Republican Fish Fry held

BARDWELL- On Friday August 15, a large crowd gathered for a Republican event that was held at the Bardwell Fire Department.

The event was held to support Senator Mitch McConnell, and was sponsored and coordinated by local republicans.

During the event a fish and barbecue meal was served with all the trimmings including plenty of homemade dessert donated by local residents.

Joe Adams a skilled fisherman caught and donated the catfish for the event. Other local republicans also donated money and time to the event. Ronnie Owens, David Webb and Tommy Thompson donated their time frying the 135 lbs of fish.

Republican Representatives and guest included Congressman Ed Whitfield, State Representative Steven Rudy, and Ken Winters.

Senator McConnell spoke briefly to the crowd on several issues including concerns on Kentucky Dam Fishing, and War on Coal, stating the war on coal by the Obama administration has real cost for Kentuckians and Kentucky jobs.
