Search continues for Dr. Lyles

By Pat Thomann, Editor

The search continued on Monday for Calvert City Optometrist Dr. J.P. Lyles who disappeared on Wednesday from his Marina Village condo. Dr. Lyles was last seen at Lighthouse Landing about 5pm on Wednesday and has not been seen since.

Searchers have scanned a vast area around Grand Rivers and parts of the LBL with no results. Emergency responders from several surrounding counties have helped in the search both by land and water. Over 100 volunteers have participated in the search.

The search by volunteers was officially called off for the holiday weekend but officials continued to search. Livingston County Deputy Emergency Management Director Kenny Vincent said he searched parts of both Kentucky and Barkley Lakes on Sunday but nothing was found. Many local residents and visitors to the area also continued to search over the weekend.

The search will continue this week and anyone with any information is urged to contact the Livingston County Sheriff’s department at 270-928-2122.
