Smith Funeral Chapel welcomes Jeff Armstrong as new General Manager

Smith Funeral Chapel is pleased to welcome Jeff Armstrong as their new General Manager at their Smithland Chapel. Many of you know Jeff as your newly elected Livingston County Coroner. Jeff has previously served as the County Coroner for 8 years and is excited to serve the community again. Jeff will be in charge of day to day operations and will be available to help families in their time of need.

Jeff comes to Smiths with a very extensive portfolio with over 30 years' experience. Jeff graduated from Livingston Central High School in 1983, received a Paramedics Associates of Science Degree from Paducah Community College, received his Coroners' training at the Department of Criminal Justice in Frankfort Kentucky and worked as an Emergency Room Paramedic at Baptist Health in Paducah. He is presently working towards his Funeral Directors license.

Jeff is very excited to begin a new chapter in his life serving the people of Livingston County. Many changes are being made at Smiths and Jeff wants to see the needs of families met in an all newly renovated facility.

Over the next several months you will see many changes done to both the interior and exterior of the building and grounds. The parking lot will be repaved, guardrails will be removed, a new fence will be erected, front steps to the street will be removed, all new window and doors will be installed and the front entrance will be remodeled.

An interior decorator will help with redecorating the entrance, Chapel and other areas inside. During the renovations, Jeff says that he be using local business providers from the community for products and services. As a part of this community Jeff wants to support the local businesses as much as possible. During renovations they will continue to provide you with high quality personal service.

Jeff says, "I am very excited to be a part of this community and to be a part of the changes being made at Smiths Funeral Chapel. This is home to me and I am excited to have been elected as Livingston County Coroner and to be a part of the Smiths Funeral Chapel family."

Jeff plans to continue to be involved in many community activities and programs to benefit the community. Many school programs and events are scheduled throughout the school year and he will be involved.

Smith's plans more events in the coming months that may include, a Family Memorial Remembrance Service in December, Friends and Family Day and maybe a July 4th event at the Smithland riverfront.

Smith Funeral Chapel is located at 319 E. Adair Street in Smithland. Their regular hours are Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm. They can be reached at 270-928-2186.
