There was a man sent from God. He was a man with a unique ministry. His name was John. He was sent to introduce THE MAN – Jesus Christ. John said, “Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”
The gospel of John teaches us that Jesus showed His deity both by His words and His miraculous deeds. He is the Word that was made flesh and dwelled among men on earth. He is as much God as though He were not man at all and as much man as though He were not God at all. Perfect God/ perfect man, He is the God/Man.
His Humanity...Jesus revealed His humanity in so many ways that are common to man. He was BORN. God could have sent Him to earth as a full grown man, but He chose to send Him as a baby. He GREW, growing up can be a painful process. Jesus knows – He grew up also. He WORKED- in Joseph’s carpentry shop. He WORSHIPPED – the Bible says He worshipped regularly. He WEPT – at the tomb of His friend Lazarus – Then He revived Lazarus from the dead. He became WEARY – and sat and rested at Jacob’s well in Sychar in Samaria. He knew loneliness and felt REJECTION by those He came to save. He knew POVERTY – there were times when He had nowhere to lay his head and sleep. He experienced SUFFERING and PAIN – the agony of Gethsemane and the cross. He was TEMPTED in all points like we are, yet He never yielded to temptations. He never sinned.
Today we have a man, THE MAN, the only mediator between God and man – THE MAN – Christ Jesus.
