Tigers go on Safari vs Comets

The Murray High Tigers were on the road Friday, February 21, against the Carlisle County Comets.

The boys took the floor first, with J. Boone, Sheppard, Curtis, Miles and an unknown shooter sending 27 points to the hoop, while French, Weatherspoon and Morefield score 6 points for the Comets.
The Comets open the 2nd quarter with a 3 point basket from Crawford, then Morefield, Weatherspoon, Norsworthy and Carrico total 10 points.
The Tigers add 10 points from Miles, Sheppard and J. Boone to keep a 37-19 lead at half time.
The Tigers came out in the 3rd quarter with Sheppard, Kelly, D. Boone, Clark and number 3 shooting 15 points into the iron.
The Comets collected 11 points from Morefield, Norsworthy, Weatherspoon and French before the quarter closed down 52-30.
The Comets were hard pressed in the final quarter but Weatherspoon, Carrico and French posted 11 points.
The Tigers kept on the offense as Stubblefield, Miles, Kelly and number 12 totaled 15 points for a 67-41 victory.

The girls came onto the court next, with Grogan, Waldrop, Ma. Turley, Clark and Armstrong collecting 18 points, while Case and Sams entered 7 points for the Lady Comets.
The Lady Comets added just 6 points in the 2nd quarter from Hooper, M. Edging and un unknown shooter but Waldrop, Grogan, Ma. Turley, Thiede and Clark deposit 15 points to give the Lady Tigers a 33-13 half time advantage.
In the 3rd quarter, the harried Lady Comets managed to score 7 points from Sams and Hooper, while Waldrop, Ma. Turley, Thiede, Grogan and House collect 24 points to give the Lady Tigers a 57-20 lead.
In the final quarter, the Lady Comets combine 10 points from Hooper, Case and Sams but Lawson, McDowell and Mo. Turley add 5 points to give the Lady Tigers a 62-30 victory.
