PADUCAH - The Kentucky Press Association held their annual Advertising Excellence in Kentucky Newspapers contest. In 2013, two employees of Kentucky Publishing Newspaper Group, home to nine county newspapers in western Kentucky, southern Illinois and northwest Tennessee; entered the competition.
Gregory Vaught and Teresa Pearson, who work at the Paducah office, entered several ads and publications into certain categories for judging, back in March of this year. The results and winners were announced in June.
Teresa Pearson, managing editor and a native of Hickman County, KY, entered and won first place in the creative use of the newspaper/newspaper promotion category. She also received third place for general excellence for the West KY News. Teresa has been employed at Kentucky Publishing Newspaper Group for the past two and a half years.
Gregory Vaught, production manager and a native of Lake County, IN, entered and won first place in the categories of food and alcohol and agricultural/lawn and garden. He won second place in the categories of financial, healthcare/medical and political advertising. He won third place in healthcare/medical, and political advertising. He also received an honorable mention in the multiple advertiser/”SIG” page. Gregory has been employed at Kentucky Publishing Newspaper Group for the past 15 years.
