Easter is the most important celebration of the year for the Christian believer. Without Jesus' resurrection Christianity would be no different than any other religion. Christ-followers believe in salvation FROM a sin-ridden life TO blessing, not only in this life, but in the eternal life to come. Therefore, Easter is a wonderful time to celebrate faith.
Becoming a born-again believer is easy. The Bible says we must believe, and confess with our mouth, that Jesus died for our sins and that he rose from the dead. Believing as described in that verse is more than just speaking the words ... It's believing with your whole heart and committing to live for him.
After experiencing a God-encounter there are many benefits of salvation.
The most important benefit of Christianity is forgiveness of sin. Many, many people struggle with forgiving themselves so if they can believe Christ' work on the cross took care of their past sin, their present sin, and their future sin, the benefits are enormous. His death and resurrection made it possible for us to be in right standing with God. Jesus is the only one who made that possible. That's just one reason to celebrate faith.
What can you expect after you except Jesus? Friends.
Commit to getting connected. Get involved in church programs that teach you and cause you to grow spiritually. Find a place to worship. Join small group Bible studies; volunteer in a food bank; attend Sunday School class. Make it your goal to build friendships with other believers. In a world of disconnect due to technology, it's the much-needed connection with people that's a second reason to celebrate faith.
Then, of course, is the daily task of Christian living.
Bible study and prayer become the most important aspect of living the day-by-day Christian life. Getting saved is easy, but living it every day will take effort. There are benefits here too: abundant life and peace. Jesus said he came to give us life and that more abundantly. Sounds like another reason to celebrate faith.
What about the youth? Where do they fit in?
Almost all young people love music and churches love music. There's almost always a place to use musical talent in church. Vacation Bible School and programs for graduates may also be a place where youth can find connection and grow spiritually.
The Bible says those who come to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Finally, as you diligently follow and seek Christ, you will develop faith with legs. You'll begin to look for ways to witness. You are an ambassador for Christ. Missions, outreach programs, reaching out to the lost and the power of prayer all become important to the believer. Just another benefit and reason to celebrate faith.
