COLUMBUS- On Sunday September 8, West Kentucky Baptist Association held their annual Picnic and Singing at Columbus Belmont State Park.
The event drew in approximately 170 people. Guest speaker Cecil Fayard who is a Missionary/Evangelist with the Ships to Shore Regions beyond Intl. and a ministry of Elliott Baptist Church in Grenada, MS. Fayard works with crews of ships that come in and port at the mouth of the Mississippi River. He is able to go on board and give out bibles in their language. Fayard spoke on laborers of the Lord and planting seeds through Jesus Christ throughout the world.
The crowd was also entertained with many singers they included Donna Lane, Paul Lee, Barry Patrick and more.
Disaster Relief crew provided and cooked hamburgers and hotdogs to the crowd.
On Saturday September 7, West Kentucky Baptist Association, involving 36 Southern Baptist Churches in Fulton, Hickman, and Carlisle counties, dedicated its new Disaster Relief Center in Clinton.
The building will house cooking equipment, chain saws and mud-out tools, and other items necessary in times of emergencies. It is located on McMorris Street, and was the former location of Second Baptist Church which donated the property.
