Jack Garland, 81, of Paducah, passed away at 8:51 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Mr. Garland was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church, a retired owner of Jack’s Chevron, was a door greeter and worked the gas pumps and Sam’s Club in Paducah. Mr. Garland is survived by his wife of 54 yrs., Wanda Pearl Turner Garland; one son, Johnny Garland of Paducah; two grandchildren, John Mark Garland of St. Louis, MO and Apryl Kay Garland of South Bend, IN; one sister, Jessie Lawing of Nebo, NC; one brother, James Garland of Houston, TX and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Kay Garland; one sister and four brothers.  His parents were, Clayton and Rosie Ettie Stockton Garland. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at Lone Oak First Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Summerlin officiating.  Burial will follow in Mt. Kenton Cemetery. The Garland family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, September 20, 2013 at Lone Oak First Baptist Church and on Saturday, September 21, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. until service time of 2:00 p.m. at Lone Oak First Baptist Church. The Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Lone Oak First Baptist Church Children’s Ministry, 3601 Lone Oak Rd. Diana Dale Watson, 71, of Paducah, died Tuesday at 5:35 am at Baptist Health-Paducah. Diane was born in Memphis on April 18, 1942 to the late Benjamin Franklin Watkins and Mary Elizabeth Bushong Watkins.  She worked for State Farm Insurance in the claim department and was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church. She was a kind and loving lady who is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Watson; three daughters, Dawn Marie Watson Hilberath of Ashburn, VA, Cheryl Denise Watson Samonte of Virginia Beach, VA and Robin Renee Watson Blackwood of Baltimore, MD; a sister, Ramelle Lynne Collins of Memphis, TN; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday at Lone Oak First Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Summerlin officiating.  Burial will follow at Mt. Jackie Wayne Howle, 71, of West Paducah, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Lourdes Hospital after a lengthy battle with progressive supranuclear palsy. Jack was born in Paducah on January 10, 1942 to the late J.B. and Flora Wilma Davenport Howle.  After graduating from University of Kentucky School of Banking, Jack worked at several area banks until his retirement.  He was employed by Citizens Bank and Trust Company for 17 years where he was promoted to manager of the loan department and served as Vice President of Peoples Bank in LaCenter for 13 years .  He was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church where he served on the financial committee and sang in the choir.  Jack was former President of West McCracken Lions Club and also held the offices of Secretary and Treasurer.  He also served on the Board of Directors of West McCracken County Fire Department, where he was secretary and treasurer for 25 years as well as serving on the Ballard County Country Club Board of Directors.  An avid sportsman, Jack enjoyed UK athletics, golfing and St. Louis Cardinals. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carol Ann Cooper Howle; five children, daughters Candy Holloran and husband Tim of Fairview, TN, Tammy Souder and husband Ricky of West Paducah, Jacquie Mantle and husband Mike of Bardwell; sons, Terry Howle and wife Debbie of Baxter, TN and Kent Howle and wife Jennifer of Kevil; a sister, Dorothy George of Brookport, IL; eleven grandchildren, Ashley Whitman, Paige Souder, Taylor Howle, Huntyr Holloran, Sydney Souder, Kameron Howle, Jacob Howle, twins Lauren and Logan Mantle, Dustin “Drew” Howle and Derrick Holloway; two great-grandchildren, Morgan Holloway and Bennett Whitman; brother-in-law, Jimmy Ellis; sister-in-law Donna Korte and husband Kent; several nieces, nephews and special cousins. Preceding him in death was a sister, Gwen Ellis; and his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11am Saturday at Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Miller officiating.  Burial will follow at Newton Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be held Friday evening from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.

John T. Rogers, age 90, formerly of Lone Oak, passed away at the home of his daughter and son in law on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at 4:55 pm. John was born in Hickory, KY on March 13, 1923 to Ted and Jodie Rogers. He has made his home in Bandana, KY for the past 62 years. He had the distinct honor of being chosen to work on a seventeen man team, whose special assignment was building the WWII bomber plane, the “Enola Gay”, which was responsible for ending that war. He served well over twenty years as an officer in local and State Law Enforcement, four of which he served as Sheriff of McCracken County. He  was a member of the Lone Oak Church Of Christ. He is survived by his daughter, Wanda Faye Meunier and husband Wayne of Bandana, KY; his son, James Roy Rogers of Chattanooga, TN; his grandchildren, Timothy Wayne Meunier of Nashville, TN and Heather Lynn McKinney of West Paducah; his great grandchildren, Brandon Taylor McKinney and Breckyn Elise McKinney of West Paducah; his special friend, Donna Kuehn of Winchester, KY and his devoted caregiver, Whitney Clemons. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty three years, Edna Earle Hendon Rogers; his parents, Ted Lyles Rogers and Jodie Tucker Rogers; one half-sister and one half-brother. A private family service will be held. Harold Hamilton, 96, of Paducah, KY passed away at 2:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Superior Care Home of Paducah. He was born in Graves County, KY. Harold retired from Sears in 1980 as a Department Supervisor. He was a member and former Elder of the Broadway Church of Christ. Harold served as  a Quartermaster in the U.S. Army/Air Corp. He is survived by his daughters, Karen Hamilton Willis and husband Jeff of Fort Mill, S.C. and Harolyn Rasche and husband Frank of Paducah, KY;  7 grandchildren, Hal Rasche, Michael Rasche, Galen Rasche, Todd Rasche, David Willis, Amy Willis and Josh Willis; 7 great grandchildren, Meredith Rasche, Caroline Rasche, Gantry Rasche, Gatlin Rasche, Hayden Rasche, Josephine Rasche and Eleanor Rasche; nephew, Don Hamilton; 3 nieces, Carla Farr, Mary Gayle Wessel and Edwina Overby. Harold was preceded in death by his wife, Estelle Pickard Hamilton; daughter, Nancy K. Hamilton; 2 brothers, Fred Gayle Hamilton and Carl Hamilton. His parents were Roy Hamilton and Erma Gough Hamilton.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Mr. Dan Owen officiating. Mary F. Mercer, 58, of Paducah, KY passed away at 4:54 a.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Lourdes Hospital. She is survived by her son, Michael Owen of Paducah, KY; daughter, Lisa Collins of Paducah, KY; mother, Charlene Morris Proffer of Paducah, KY and 7 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, J. H. Proffer. Memorial services will be at 6:00 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2013 at Noble Park with the Rev. Ricky D. Collins pastor of Mt. Horeb Church officiating.
Memorial visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. Monday, September 23, 2013 at Noble Park. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements. Dr. David M. West, 66, of Paducah, died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 9:55 pm. Arrangements were incomplete at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
