Kerry Doke, 57, of Paducah, died at 5:30 a.m. on Monday, October 14, 2013 at his residence.  Mr. Doke was of the Baptist faith and was employed with Galaxy Cable in Wickliffe, KY for 28 years as a Technical Manager. Kerry is survived by three sons, Brian Doke of Blandville, KY, Jerrod Doke of Barlow, KY and Cody Doke of Blandville, KY; three grandchildren; his parents, Ken Rudy Doke and Carolyn Lamkin Doke of Paducah, KY; two sisters, Lana Moore of Murray, KY and Jackie Wilson of Paducah, KY. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.  Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Expressions of sympathy can be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105

Ronnie S. Jett, 60, passed away on September 14th 2013.  Ronnie was a native of Paducah, KY and a  graduate of Heath High School.  He moved to Jensen Beach, FL and worked as an Instructor for maintenance for FB&L for over 32 years.  He was an avid University of KY fan, known for his work ethic and his unique sense of humor.  He was loved and will be missed by those who knew him. Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Pamela  Jett of Jensen Beach, FL; one daughter, Meg Jett of Jensen Beach FL; father, Donald Jett of Paducah, KY; two brothers, Larry (Connie) Jett, and Jamie (Betty) Stewart both of Paducah, KY and three nephews. Preceding in death was  a son, Reece Jett and his  mother, Barbara Bearden Jett.
A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Zion Cemetery at 9701 Blandville Road. Local arrangements by Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Frances L. Smith 88, a native of McCracken County, passed away October 15th in Laurel MS. She was a former resident of Reidland, and a member of Reidland Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Milton Smith and Mildred Karnes Smith;  her husband of 48 years Freeland E. Smith; four brothers, William, Malcom, Robert, and Gene
 Smith; and one sister, Ada Nell Lawrence. She is survived by her son, Randall E. Smith, Laurel, MS; and granddaughter, Rebecca Jackson,  Evansville, IN. Graveside service will be held Friday, Oct. 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Paradise Cemetery in Lyon County.  Dr. Larry Lewis will officiate. Loraine Mathis, 95, Paducah, died at 11:15 a.m. Saturday, October 12, 2013, at her home. She was a member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church where she taught SundaySchool, was church youth director, member and youth adviser for the NAACP, served with the Human Rights Commission and was chairperson of numerous church, civic and community events. She was a former employee with the Paducah Board of Education. She was a Duchess of Paducah and a Kentucky Colonel and was selected to serve as a member of the first Board of Directors for the W.C. Young Community Center. She is survived by two daughters, Maurice Lajune Crouse of Columbia, Md., and Janet Loraine Roberts of Paducah; three sons, Charles Douglas Mathis of Brownstown, Mich., Archie Lee Mathis of Louisville and Keith Cordell Mathis of San Diego, Calif.; one sister, Ella Elizabeth Gardner of Chicago; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Allen Mathis; two sons, Don Allen Mathis and George Alvin Mathis; three sisters and two brothers. Her parents were Michael and Ethel Coleman. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 19, 2013, at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Michael Wade officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Paducah. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour Saturday, October 19, 2013, at the church. Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Lila Faye Perry, 98, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013, in Paducah, Ky. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, October 18, 2013, with a visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. at Red Bridge United Methodist Church, 636 E. 117th St., Kansas City, MO 64131. Donations may be made to Red Bridge United Methodist Church. Lila was born Oct. 10, 1915, in Stilwell, Kan., to parents Walter Smith and Effie Pedigo. Lila was a longtime member of the Red Bridge United Methodist Church, worked at Hallmark Cards during the war years, and enjoyed being a cook for the Jackson County School Systems for 17 years. Lila was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert N. Perry of 67 years; and son, Robert A. Perry. She is survived by daughter, Connie Markgraf; and grandchildren, Amy Adams, Chris Markgraf, Kari Long and Derek Markgraf; and 10 great-grandchildren. Condolences may be left at www.mtmoriah-freeman.com.

Harold Ray Jackson, 90, of Symsonia died at 12:41 p.m. Monday, October 14, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah. Mr. Jackson was a retired mechanic at Modine Manufacturing Company, a member of Symsonia United Methodist Church, a Kentucky Colonel, and was a veteran of the Army during WWII. He is survived by his son, Tyron Ray Jackson and wife Sheila of Symsonia; brother-in-law, H.L. Frizzell and wife Barbara of Symsonia; two sisters, Helen Thompson of Symsonia, Joy Cope of Reidland; three grandchildren, Michael Vasseur and wife Heather of Palm Coast, FL., Kevin Ray Jackson and wife Cheryl of Symsonia and Marci Warren and husband Gary of Symsonia; four great-grandchildren, Clayton Warren, Timmy Vasseur, Allie Vasseur, Cailey Warren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Frizzell) Jackson; daughter, Cozette Jackson Vasseur; granddaughter, Misty Vasseur Lee; three sisters, Eva Jackson, Jane (Henson) Phipps, Segal Whitis; and his parents, Franklin Gard Jackson and Lottie Jackson Brookshire. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Ronnie Cunningham and the Rev. Jimmy Franks officiating. Burial will follow at Clarks Rivers Cemetery of Symsonia with Military Honors. Visitation will be held from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. Inez Talley, 105, of Paducah, died at 3:45 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2013, at Parkview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center of Paducah. She was member of Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries where she served on the Mother’s Board.
She is survived by her daughter, Irhonda Lovelace of Paducah; a granddaughter, Amanda “Punkin” Lovelace of Paducah, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Talley. Her parents were Robert Bob Caldwell and Inez Steven Caldwell. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, October 18, 2013, at Ninth Street Tabernacle Ministries with the Revs. Barbara Burrage and Alfred Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday at the church. Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Shirley Ann “Tinnon” Blackwell, 76, of Paducah died Saturday, October 12, 2013, at her home. She was a retired factory worker. She is survived by her sister, Betty Homyer of Granite City, Ill., and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Marvin Starnes, and one sister. Her parents were James Tinnon and Martha Starnes. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2013, at Lindsey Funeral Home in Paducah.
