Charles C. Snyder, 91, of Paducah, KY passed away at 2:28 p.m. Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was retired from Modine Manufacturing Company. Charles was a member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church and served in the United States Army during World War II. He is survived by his brother, Joseph Snyder of Paducah, KY and several nieces and nephews. Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Frances Prince Snyder; three sisters, Mary C. Pompe, Victoria B. Morris and Marguerite Cashon; three brothers, Raymond Snyder, Edward Snyder and Roy Snyder. His parents were Bernard Charles Snyder and Rosa Clara Wurth Snyder. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the St.Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. J. Patrick Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Ambie Sue Freeman, 91 of Paducah, passed away at 8:20 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2013, at Morningside of Paducah. Mrs. Freeman was a member of Free Gospel Church and retired from Normandy Manufacturing where she was a seamstress. She was a volunteer for twenty five years at Lourdes Hospital, and was a member of the Paducah Ambassadors, the Red Hat Society, and was a Dutchess of Paducah and Kentucky Colonel. Mrs. Freeman is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Hunter and husband Darrell of West Paducah; one grandson, Greg Hunter of Murray; a special friend, Sue Oreskovich of West Paducah; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Challie B. Freeman; four brothers, Marvin Swatzell, Owen Swatzell, Thomas Swatzell, and Bill Swatzell. Her parents were James Ennis and Cora Alice Merrick Swatzell. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, November 10, 2013, at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Bob Berkley and Curtis Garner officiating. Burial will follow in Clarks River Cemetery. Willo Dean Phillips, 92, of Paducah passed away at 11:40AM Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Parkview Skilled Nursing & Rehab in Paducah. She had worked for Hughes Market for over 40 years and was a member of Spring Bayou Baptist Church where she was in the choir and taught Sunday School for 4 and 5 years old for over 40 years. She is survived by two sons, Richard Allen Phillips of Sikeston, MO and Ronald (Ron) Bruce (Glenda) Phillips of Paducah; one sister, Reba Hemphill of Fairfield, AL; one brother, LaVaughn Pete (Sandra) Richards of Hueytown, AL; six grandchildren, John (Suzanne) Phillips, Jeremy (Laura) Phillips, Carolyn (Jonathan) Savko, Andrew Phillips, Michele (Matt) Hardeman, Missy (Shelly) Keeling and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Dozier Phillips. Her parents were Charles Marvin and Lida Koker Richards.Funeral services will be at 3:00PM Sunday at Spring Bayou Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Tipton officiating. Charles Michael McClure, 64, of Paducah passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 at 2:00 a.m. at Baptist Health Paducah. He was a graduate of Lone Oak High School and a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church. Michael was a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a degree in Horticulture and then moved to California where he worked for Pepperdine University as a buyer. When he returned to Paducah after several years in California, he was self-employed in lawn care and maintenance until his retirement due to health problems. Survivors include his mother, Vera Dennison McClure of Paducah, KY; one sister, Denise Turner of Paducah, KY; special niece, Kristi Thorsby and husband Jim of Schuarita, AZ; special nephew, Aaron Gill of Paducah, KY, special great nieces and nephews; three special friends, Gayle Richards, Renee Williams and Tina Owen. Preceding in death was his father, Charles McClure. Graveside services will be held Monday, November 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Royce Dukes officiating. Margie Cooper Hughes, age 91, of Paducah, passed away at 1:58 am on Friday, November 8, 2013 at Superior Care Nursing Home in Paducah. Mrs. Hughes was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Paducah and a retired dental assistant for Dr. Glen B. Donoho. She is survived by a sister, Billie Farrow of Paducah, a brother, Freddie Cooper of Paducah; and many nieces, nephews and great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ralph Hughes; sisters, Gladys Davis, Bonnie Morris, Sible Stratton, Alma Overstreet and Barbara June Cooper; brothers, Morris Cooper, Cleo Cooper and Harlan Cooper. Her parents were Fred H. and Annie (Webb) Cooper. Graveside services for Mrs. Hughes will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Brooks Memorial Park Cemetery in Paducah with Rev. Don Wilson officiating. Elvis Wayne “Pottsie” Potts, 73 of Paducah, KY passed away at 7:55 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2013 at his residence. He was retired from U.S.E.C. as a operator and served in the United States Army. He is survived by two daughters, Jessica Matthews of Paducah, KY and Paula Thompson of Port St. Lucie, FL; son, Devin Potts of Paducah, KY; sister, Linda Lindstrom of Deerfield, IL; brother, Douglas Allen Potts, Jr. of San Francisco, CA; 4 grandchildren, 4, great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas Potts and Hazel Bradford Potts and two sisters. A memorial gathering will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Saturday, November 16, 2013 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 3140 Parisa Drive, Paducah, KY 42003.

William V. Jackson, age 89, of Bardwell, passed away at 1:25 am on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Mr. Jackson was a member of Bardwell United Methodist Church and an accountant. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He is survived by several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra A. and Mary Ella (Vallendingham) Jackson; and several brothers and sisters. Funeral services for Mr. Jackson will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Bardwell. Gail Leigh (Rippy) Russell, 43, of Kevil died at 12:10 a.m. Sunday, November 10, 2013, at Baptist Health Paducah. She was a member of McKendree United Methodist Church and a general manager at El Chico in Paducah. She is survived by her mother, Nadine Rippy of Wickliffe. She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Rippy; and one brother, Terry Rippy. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013, at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe with Rev. Tim Stonecipher and Bill Dowell officiating. Danny S. Thompson, 67, of Paducah died Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at 12:30 a.m. at Parkview Nursing and Rehab. Danny was a member of Central Church of Christ and was a member of the 1965 graduating class of Symsonia High School. He retired from Davis Good Giant where he was a stock clerk. Danny enjoyed working in the yard when his health would allow. He was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan as well as St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan. He loved and enjoyed his “Grand Dogs” as he would refer to them. Surviving are his wife of forty-one years, Joyce Saltzgiver Thompson; two sons, Daryl Thompson and his wife, Deb; Timothy Thompson and his wife, Brittany both of Paducah, KY; four grandchildren, Matthew Thompson, Andrew Castleberry, Skyler Thompson and Savana Thompson; sister-in-law, Carolyn Thompson of Paducah; several nieces and nephews. Preceding in death were parents, Guy and Lena Starks Thompson; one brother, James Thompson. Services will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Jim Faughn officiating. Zachary Lee Johnson, 36, of Paducah, formerly of Zeigler, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Zach was a graduate of Idaho Falls (Idaho) High School. He was Parts and Service Director for Bluegrass Honda-BMW in Paducah. A member of Gospel Mission Center, Zach was a drummer in the Praise Band. He was an avid athlete and sports fan who coached many teams on which his sons played. Zach was a devoted husband to his wife of 16 years, Jennifer Hagler Johnson and a caring father to their two sons, Cameron L. Johnson and Cade A. Johnson. He is survived by his mother, Sharon Johnson Bass of Gorham, IL; a sister, Carolyn Ann Johnson Cagle of Phoenix, Az; and his grandmother, Carolyn Williams of Benton, Il. Preceding him in death was his father, Earl W. Johnson, Jr.; and grandparents Curtis Williams, Earl Johnson, Sr., and Agnes Kinker. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Saturday at Gospel Mission Worship Center in Reidland, Ky. Pastor Jim Wright of Gospel Mission Worship Center and Pastor Bob Wynn of Love and Truth Church in Crainville, IL will officiate. Visitation will begin at 11 am Saturday at the church. Louise C. Grassham, 95, of Paducah died Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 9:50 a.m. at Emertius Assisted Living. Louise was a member of Broadway Baptist Church and a graduate of Lone Oak High School. She was a Murray State graduate receiving both Bachelor and Master degrees. She taught special education for twenty years for the Paducah City Schools. She was a former member of Kentucky Education Association, National Education Association and member of Paducah/McCracken County Retired Teachers. Survivors include two sons, Thomas O. Grassham and wife Kathie, John A. Grassham and wife Donna, both of Paducah, KY; three sisters, Lucy Stites of Columbia, MO, Mary Benavidez of Los Angeles, CA, Johanna Andrecht of Evansville, IN; sister-in-law, Frances Cates of Paducah, KY; five grandchildren, Dawn Duffel and husband Stan, Charles William Grassham III, Ashley Elizabeth Maxey and husband Matt, Sarah K. Martin and husband Derek, Rebecca Ann Grassham and fiancé Sean Cassidy; two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Preceding in death were husband, Charles William Grassham Sr., two sons, Charles William Grassham, Jr., and Louis Webster Grassham; parents, Conard Cates & Bessie Ragland Cates, one brother, C.W. “Bill” Cates; four sisters, Rita Vestal, Betty Schmidt, Edna Evans and Sue Watson. Graveside services will be held Friday, November 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt.
