Frances Neblett, age 70, of Paducah, passed away at 6:44 am on Sunday, November 17, 2013 at Baptist Health in Paducah. Mrs. Neblett was a member of Southside Holiness Church in Paducah. She was a dietary supervisor at Parkview Nursing and Rehab in Paducah. She is survived by her husband, Floyd R. Neblett of Paducah; daughter, Ella Helton Peeler of Paducah; sons, Harold Helton of Benton, KY, Ben Davis Helton, Jr. of Hardin, KY; step-daughter, Sheila Renee Neblett of Paducah; step-son, Byron Neblett of Hardin, KY; mother, Cynthia Lee Green of Paducah; sisters, Velvie Owen of Paducah, Reecie Dubbels of Paducah; brothers, Jerry “Tiny” Molott of West Paducah, Terry Green of Paducah; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, John Henry Melvin Molott; and one brother. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at the Southside Holiness Church with Rev. Kevin Pleasant officiating. Burial will follow in the Provine Cemetery in Benton, KY. Visitation will begin at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah and again on Wednesday beginning at 11:00 AM at the church.
Geraldine Mae Hall Coons, age 84, of Paducah, passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 10:59 pm at the home of her daughter, Anna Elkins, in Benton, KY. Geraldine was born June 2, 1929 in Birdsville, KY, to the late Roy and Ora Hall. She was baptized as a Jehovah Witness. During her working years, she was employed with the Paducah Shirt Company and The Florsheim Shoe Factory. After retirement she became an avid quilter, creating many beautiful quilts. She will be remembered as one of the kindest and most caring persons you could ever meet. She is survived by her daughters, Anna Elkins and husband Ted , of Benton, KY, Peggy Richards and husband David of Melber, KY; her sister Maggie Edmonds and husband Bill, of Smithland, KY; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty five years, Albert J. Coons; her parents, Roy Hall and Ora Mae Carrol Hall; four sisters and one brother. A funeral service is scheduled for Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Homes. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Kathy A. George, 58, of Brookport died at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2013, at her home resulting from injuries sustained in Sunday’s tornado. She was a member of North Crockett Street Church of Christ and was employed at Wal-Mart. She is survived by her husband, Charles E. George; one sister, Mary Walker of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters. Her parents were Charles Carter and Naomi Jean Walker. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Ninth Street Church of Christ, 715 S. 9th Street, in Paducah with William D. Hensley and Mark Rowe officiating. Robert Oakley Harmon, age 56, of Brookport, Ill., passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home. Bro. David LeNeave will officiate. Burial will follow in the Hamletsburg Cemetery. Mr. Harmon worked as a field technician for Whayne Caterpillar in Paducah. Robert is survived by his son, Austin Harmon of Brookport; daughter, Robin Hiett of Brookport; four brothers, Billy Harmon and wife Connie of Smithland, Ky., Bill Harmon and wife Barbara of Louisiana, Mike Harmon of Ohio and Robert Harmon of California; two sisters, Susan Busch and husband Paul of Reidland, Ky., and Carolyn Murray and husband Paul of Mississippi; four grandchildren, Xavier Bollinger, Clayton Bollinger, Katie Harmon and Seth Travesty; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Harmon and Mary Mardell Simpson.

Mary Evelyn Gibson, 98, of Mayfield died Tuesday, November 19, 2013. She was a retired seamstress for Merit Clothing and a member of Northside Baptist Church of Mayfield. She is survived by one son, Morgan Gibson of Mayfield; two grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otto Gibson; two brothers, and one sister. Her parents were Ozzie and Beulah Tucker Shell. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Highland Park Cemetery with the Rev. Gary Frizzell officiating. J C Jennings, 85, of Paducah, Ky., formerly of Grand Rivers, Ky., passed away at 1:40 a.m. Saturday, November 16, 2013, at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Jennings was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Paducah. He worked as a furnace operator at SKW Alloys until his retirement and was a veteran of the United States Army. He is survived by one son, Jerry Jennings and his wife Audra of Canton, Ga.; two daughters, Frances Throgmorton of Paducah, Ky., and Martha Flack and her husband John of Portage, Mich.; one brother, Roy Jennings of Reidland, Ky.; six grandchildren, Daniel Flack, Callie Flack, Steven Flack, Kelli Throgmorton, Aly Bennett and her husband Chris, and Jacob Jennings; and two great-grandchildren, Ava Bennett and Isaiah Bennett. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Pool Kolar Jennings; and one sister, Clara Harper. His parents were John Jennings and Cora Evans Jennings.

Joe Wilson Sr., 80, of Cadiz died Sunday, November 17, 2013, at his home. He was a member of Calvary Missionary Baptist Church and had worked as a crane operator for Midland Steel and Republic Steel in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a U.S. Air Force Korean War veteran, a 32nd degree Master Mason with the Scottish Rite and had attended Cadiz Masonic Lodge 121 and Ophelia Chapter 55 Order of the Eastern Star, where he had served as Worthy Patron. He was a member and past Worthy Patron of the Laurel Chapter 472 Order of the Eastern Star and had served as past Master of the Laurel Masonic Lodge 104. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Wilson; two sons, Joseph F. Wilson Jr. of Rockport, Texas, and David A. Wilson of Charleston, S.C.; one sister, Lillie Stroop of Huntington, W.Va.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by eight sisters and two brothers. His parents were John Franklin Wilson and Trula Hodge Wilson. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2013, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz with Rev. Greg Wells officiating. Jeff Blackburn, 54, of Eddyville died Monday, November 18, 2013, at his home. He was an operating engineer for Local 181 at Olmsted Dam and a member of Fredonia Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Coleman Blackburn; one son, Bryan Blackburn of Murray; his mother and stepfather, Linda Harper Phelps and Bill of Fredonia; three grandchildren; one sister, DeeAnn Franklin of Lone Oak; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Blackburn. Joe N. “Joey” Williams, 57, of Paducah passed away at 11:43 p.m. Sunday, November 17, 2013, at Lourdes hospital, after a long bout with cancer. Mr. Williams was a retired carpenter. He was of the Baptist faith. Surviving are his former wife and love of his life, Sheila Thacker; his daughter, Jody (Brandon) Johnson of Paducah; his son, Corey (Amy) Crenshaw of Paducah; his sister, Marsha (Ernie) Wilkins of Camden, TN.; four grandchildren, Libby Johnson, Shayna Johnson, Hope Crenshaw and Eden Crenshaw; and two nephews, Robert and Jason Middleton. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe C. Williams and Shirley Bloodworth Gray; and his grandmother, Ruby Collins.
