Thomas C. “Buddy” Ballew, 86, of West Paducah, passed away at 10:40 a.m. on Friday, January 10, 2014, at Emeritus Assisted Living in Paducah. Mr. Ballew was born in Hickman, Kentucky in Fulton County and was raised in the Cayce-Rush Creek Community. A United States Navy veteran, he served during WWII and the Korean War. After returning home from his military service, he retired after 31 years with TVA. Mr. Ballew was a member of the McKendree United Methodist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Jane Lookofsky, of Paducah and one granddaughter, Kathryn “Katie” Lookofsky of Athens, GA. Buddy is preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Croft Ballew; parents Roy and Annie (Hargrove) Ballow; daughter Patsy Carol Ballew; and three sisters, Ann Tinnell, Martha Ballow, and Joyce Wittenburg. Funeral Services for Mr. Ballew will be held at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bill Miller officiating. William Bellew Byrd, 91, of Paducah, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2014 at his home. Mr. Byrd was born November 4, 1922 in Fulton County, Kentucky. He graduated from Central High School, Clinton, Kentucky in 1940, Murray State in 1947 and the University of Kentucky School of Law in 1951. Mr. Byrd was on active duty with the U.S. Army from 1943 thru 1946 and remained active in the U.S. Army Reserve where he attained the rank of Major. Prior to retirement in 2003, Mr. Byrd practiced law in Paducah for fifty-two years. He was a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and the KBA House of Delegates. Mr. Byrd also served as president of the McCracken County Bar Association. Mr. Byrd was admitted to practice before state and federal courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States. In addition to the general practice of law, Mr. Byrd served as Corporation Council to the City of Paducah and several public agencies. Mr. Byrd was active in many civic organizations including the Downtown Kiwanis and Elks Clubs, the 4-Rivers Boy Scout Council, Murray State Alumni Association, Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce, Paducah Reserve Officers Association, and Paducah Tilghman PTO. He was a life member of The National Society of Sons of the American Revolution. As a devoted member of Broadway United Methodist Church since 1951, Mr. Byrd taught Sunday School, sang in the men’s choir, was a member of Methodist Men, and served on numerous committees and church boards. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Jacqueline Fish Byrd; children William Bellew Byrd, Jr. and wife Connie of Paducah, Richard Marshall Byrd and wife Haroldett of Covington, and Mary Byrd Ferrara and husband Chris of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren Julie Byrd Tapp, William Bellew Byrd, III, Rachel Graham Byrd, John Martin Ferrara, and Richard Byrd Ferrara; step-grandchildren Allison Redden, Vanessa Garcia and Maureen Mitchell; five great grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law Ruby Byrd and Carol Hannan; and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Milner Edward Byrd and Vera Bellew Byrd; sisters Eunice Byrd (infant), Elizabeth Haynes (Bill), Rachel Howell (Thurman), Magdalyn Ross (Harmon), Esther Davie (Turney); and brothers John Byrd (Helen), James Byrd (Frances), Robert Byrd (Dorothy), and Richard Byrd. There will be no visitation. The family will have private services at Rock Springs Cemetery in Fulton County, Kentucky. Elizabeth Ann DiCicco, 64, of Paducah, passed away at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at her residence. Elizabeth was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and where she retired as church secretary and she was also a volunteer with Heart USA. Elizabeth is survived by a son, Matt DiCicco and wife Sherri of Paducah, KY; a daughter, Angela DiCicco of Paducah, KY; two grandchildren, Zachary Jenkins and Mason DiCicco; two sisters, Martha Powell of Benton, KY and Geraldine McMunn of Paducah; a brother, David Lawrence of Mayfield, KY and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mario DiCicco; a sister, Wanda Sue King and a brother, William Leon Lawrence. Her parents were Willie Lee Lawrence and Lillian Watkins Lawrence. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2014 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. Brandon Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Brenda Snow Gibbs, 71, of Hickory, loving wife, mother and grandmother, went to be with her Lord on January 1, 2014 at her son’s home in Boaz. She was a retired nurse for Dr. Robert Burnett, a member of Liberty Baptist Church, and often attended Trace Creek Baptist Church with her family. She is survived by her husband Seldon Gibbs; her mother, Mildred Pierce Snow of Mayfield; son, Richard Todd Oliver and wife Lynda of Boaz; sister, Norma Sue Underwood, of Hickory; two grandchildren, Austin Oliver, Drew Oliver; and four nieces and nephews, Jill Marsh of Houston, Jon Snow, Tim Prater, and Kimberly Prater. She was preceded in death by her father Dalton Snow; her daughter Cynthia Jean Oliver; sister Shirley Mae Prater; two brothers, Larry Dalton Snow, Bobby Dale Snow; and one nephew Chris Snow. Funeral services for Mrs. Gibbs will be 2:00 pm Sunday January 5, 2014 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Betty Ann Morreau, of Paducah KY passed away at age 83 on January 1, 2014, at Tennova Hospice Residential facility in Knoxville TN. Betty was an active member of Broadway United Methodist Church in Paducah for 45 years. She worked for several years at The Cardinal Shop women's clothing store in Paducah. Surviving is her husband of 59 years, James Earl Morreau. Jim also now lives in Knoxville TN at Sherrill Hills. Betty was the loving mother of four children. Her children and their spouses are James E Morreau, Jr. and his wife Jane C. Morreau of Louisville KY, Tommy Morreau and his wife Cyndi Morreau of Paducah KY, Kathy Boling and her husband Wayne Boling of Knoxville TN, and Susan Morreau of Louisville KY. Betty was also a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren. Jacqueline Dennis (Matt), Greg Morreau, Chad Morreau (Callie) Ryan Morreau (Sarah), Whitney Morreau, Sarah Elliott (Mark), Emily Dyer (Daniel) Allyson Boling, and Madison Morreau. Betty and Jim have five great grand children as well Karlee Elliott, Kade Elliott, Annileese Morreau, Owen Morreau and Ellen Dyer. Preceding in death were Betty's parents, H.B. "Punk" Willoughby and Katherine Willoughby, and one brother, Bill Willoughby - all of Richmond KY. Services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Chad Morreau officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery . Hallie Jo Dunning, 95 of Paducah, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Life Care Center in LaCenter. Ms. Dunning was formerly of Livingston County and worked for Magnavox and was also a housewife. She was of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by her daughter Joyce Norfleet of Chester, VA, one son; W.E. Dunning of Wickliffe, KY, seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, twelve great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  Ms. Dunning is preceded in death by her husband; Thomas Roy Dunning, parents; William E. Mayhugh and Ida Ella Duncan Mayhugh, three sisters, and four brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 19, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Ernie Sanders officiating. Burial will follow at the Smithland Cemetery in Livingston, KY. Visitation for Ms. Dunning will be from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Milner and Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.

Wanda Perry, age 78, of Paducah, formerly of Bardwell, passed away at 11:00 pm on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Mrs. Perry was a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Bardwell. She is survived by her daughters, Micah Sullivan of Kevil and Charissa Santana of Bowling Green, KY; sister, Cindy Lee of Benton, KY; brother, Ernest Gardner of Paducah; four grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Perry; parents, Ernest and Betty (Reeves) Gardner. Graveside services for Wanda Perry will be at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 14, 2013 at the Roselawn Cemetery in Bardwell with Rev. C.W. Barnhill officiating. Raymond Anthony “Tony” Wurth 70, of St. John community died Monday, January 13, 2014 at 11:00 p.m. at Baptist Health Paducah. Tony was a member of St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church, and a graduate of St. John High School in 1961. He was a veteran of U.S. Army and retired as night supervisor at Amerisource. He enjoyed working on old tractors and raising a vegetable garden. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Hazel Myatt Wurth; one daughter, Tonya Marie Wurth of Paducah; one son Mark Anthony Wurth and wife Denise of Grand Rapids, MI; one sister, Bernadette Culp of Paducah, KY; four brothers, Albert Wurth and wife, Joyce, Harold Wurth and wife Wanda both of Paducah, KY, Joe Wurth and wife Elaine of Marshall, VA and Charles Wurth and wife Karen of Memphis, TN; two sisters-in-law, Eurah Wurth and Phyllis Wurth both of Paducah, KY; two grandchildren, Nicholas Kluisza and Isabelle Marie Wurth and several nieces and nephews. Preceding in death were his parents, Raymond Joseph Wurth and Mary Kathleen Poat Wurth, two brothers, Martin Wurth and David Wurth. Services will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Buckman officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery with military honors. Kaye McKinney Haas, 71, of Paducah, passed away at 2:10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital. Mrs. Haas was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a Lector, a 1960 graduate of St. Mary Academy and attended Paducah Junior College. She was a homemaker, a member of the McCracken Co. Homemakers and member of the Down Syndrome Association of Western Kentucky. Kaye is survived by her husband of 49 years, Louis A. Haas; four sons, Terry Haas and his wife Laura of Philadelphia, PA, Timothy Haas of Paducah, Andy Haas and his wife Tiffany of Paducah and Chris Haas and his wife Beth of Paducah; nine grandchildren, Aaron Haas, Bradley Haas, Drew Haas, Jake Haas, Claire Haas, Luke Haas, Bryce Haas, Brett Haas and Blake Haas; one sister, Carol Sue McKinney of Paducah; two brothers, Thomas McKinney of Elberton, GA and Joseph McKinney of Paducah; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Phyllis McCutchen and Patricia McKinney; one brother, Steven McKinney. Her parents were, Emory Dean McKinney and Elizabeth Langston McKinney. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Rev. Tom Buckman and Rev. Bruce McCarty officiating.
