Doris May Sutton Brown, 91 of Paducah passed away at 12:03PM Friday, February 21, 2014 at her residence. She was a former cook for the Holman House restaurant and a member of the Central Church of Christ. She is survived by three sons, James D. Sutton of Paducah, KY, Robert David Sutton of Houston, TX and Jeffrey Kent Sutton of Atlanta, Ga; eight sisters, Martha Hausman, Adda Huges, Betty Englert, Kathleen Watson, Rose Hopkins, Jean Traughber, Faye Beeler and Kaye Leavitt; four brothers, Charles Darnell, Bill Darnell, Jerry Darnell and Richard Darnell; ten grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild along with several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her 1st husband, James Robert Sutton; her 2nd husband, Arzie Brown; her parents, Cecil and Vera Youngblood Darnell; two sons, Gary Lee Sutton and Mark Kevin Sutton; one sister, Loma Reaves and one grandson, Daniel David Sutton. Funeral services will be Monday, February 24, 2014 at 1pm at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Jim Faughn officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Frances Ozment, 96, of Paducah, died Sunday, February 23, 2014 at 9:35 pm at Paducah Center. Frances was an owner/operator of an antique store. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her sister, Bevalene Reynolds, of Paducah, KY; Her brothers, J.M. “Jimmy” Park, of Paducah, KY and Charles Lee Park, of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Howard Ozment; her parents, Oswell Lee Park and Delia McIntosh Park and one sister. Final disposition will be handled at a later date. John William Sawyer, 86, of Paducah, KY, died at Superior Care Home on February 20, 2014. He was born March 5, 1927, in Boaz, KY. He graduated from Symsonia High School in 1944. After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving in the Pacific Arena during World War II on the USS Rigel. Survivors include his wife, Milidean Reid Sawyer; daughters, Diane Bologna (William), of New Orleans, LA, and Jill Vanderwerp (Mark), of Louisville; son-in-law, Perry Thacker, of Louisville; grandchildren, Katherine Bologna (New York, NY), Benjamin Bologna (New York, NY), and Caroline Bologna (Providence, RI), Leah Vanderwerp, and Reid and Clay Thacker, all of Louisville; and sister, Dr. Nancy J. Sawyer, of Birmingham, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ted Sawyer, two brothers, Dr. Robert Sawyer and Teddie Lee Sawyer, a sister, Martha Sawyer Duncan, a daughter, Joan Sawyer Thacker, and a grandson William McGuire Vanderwerp. The family would like to express a special thank you to all the caring staff at Superior Care Home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 1, 2014, at Fountain Avenue United Methodist Church at 11 a.m., with Reverend Gregory Waldrop officiating. Jesse “Sonny” James Caudill, 72, of Boaz died Tuesday, February 25, 2014 at 2:27 p.m. at Lourdes Hospital. He was a retired factory worker from Bohn Aluminum Manufacturing Company in Danville, IL and a fisherman. Survivors include two daughters, Tracey Mathis, Paducah, KY and Sunny Ellington, Boaz, KY; one son, Matthew Caudill, Danville, IL; mother, Rose McQueen Caudill, Springfield, MO; three sisters, Pat Stevens, Springfield, MO, Martha Ayres, Wooster, OH, Brenda Duncan, Ash Flat, AK; three brothers, Randy Caudill, Roger Caudill and Kent Caudill all of Danville, IL; four grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Alice L. Mitchell, Well respected artist, championship golfer, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend…Age 88 of Franklin, Tennessee formerly of Paducah, KY., passed on February 25, 2014 having succumbed to her injuries following a car accident. A native Kentuckian Mrs. Fisher was born November 13, 1925 in Paducah. Mrs. Fisher was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Paducah. Survived by her daughters, Randa F. Dawson of Franklin, TN and Debby J. Fisher of Missoula, MT.; grandchildren Dana L. Pagel (Tim) of Franklin, TN; Mitchell Fisher Dawson (Holli) Thompson Station, TN., Jennifer Clary (Heather) of Missoula, MT and Robert ‘Bobby’ Clary (Sarah) of Shelby, MT.; Great Grandchildren, Chelsea Lee Pagel, Madalyn Grace Dawson, Jackson Troy Dawson, Jori Lynn Clary and Hadley Marie Clary. Also survived by sisters in marriage, Carole Mitchell and Bettye Mitchell and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased in death by husband, Herbert Eugene ‘Gene’ Fisher, parentsTroy and Ava Mitchell, brothers Randall L. Dennis Beard, 53, of Hickory passed away at 1:02 pm on Tuesday, February, 25, 2014 at his parents’ home as a result of a firearm accident. Dennis was a former member of the Carpenters Local 357, and had worked for Ohio Valley as a Truck Driver. He is survived by his parents Jerry and Judy Purcell Beard of Boaz; one daughter, Amanda Fakhoorian; two sons, David Beard of Hickory, Daniel Beard of Johnson City IL; one brother, Duane Beard of Hickory; two grandchildren; and his grandmother Louise Purcell of Paducah. Funeral Services for Dennis will be 11:00 am Friday, February, 28, 2014 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Larry McClure officiating. Mrs. Joanna Marie McMinn, 91, of Paducah, Ky., died Tuesday, February 25th, 2014, at her home. A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 1st, 2014 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Paducah with the Reverend Patrick Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Paducah. Joanna is survived by her husband of 59 years, George Harold McMinn. She is also survived by her seven children, Sandra McKeown of Lexington, George McMinn, Jr. and his wife Sharon, Karen Paxton and her husband David, Linda Robinson and her husband Clay, all of Paducah, Jenifer Lowe of Aurora, Ill., Michael McMinn of San Marcos, Cal., and Tim McMinn and his fiancée Lisa Campbell of Pinson, Alabama.
