Anne Hughes Straub, 89, of Paducah, died Tuesday at 9:45 am at Lourdes Hospital. She is survived by her children, E. Frederick “Rick” Straub, Jr. of Paducah, Janet Straub Peters of Dallas, Tx, and Barbara Anne Jones of Castle Rock, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Frederick Straub. Her parents were Frank Collins Hughes and Ethel Lee McKeldin Hughes. Memorial services for Anne Straub will be held next Friday, March 14th, 2014 at 7pm at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with memorial visitation beginning at 5pm.

Jennifer R. Cochran, 41, of Paducah , died Monday, March 3, 2014 at 4:55 p.m. at Baptist Health Paducah. She was a native of Indianapolis, IN. Survivors include two daughters, Desiree Rihm, Metropolis, IL and Kassie Shoupe ofGolconda IL; one brother, Charles Gurley, Jefferson City, MO. There are no services at this time. Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah in charge of arrangements.

Carolyn Moore, 73, of Paducah formerly of Louisville, passed away 1:45 pm March 5, 2014 at her residence. Carolyn was a supporter of the Highland Baptist Church food pantry. She lived her life being a positive influence on her family and everyone she met. She is survived by her two daughters, Carol Jo Holmes and husband Homer of Paducah, Margie Hendrix of Louisville KY; one sister Wanda Nokes of Thousand Palms, CA; five grandchildren, Dianna Houser, Joe Dumbacher, Selena Galloway, Chris Hendrix, Tana Hendrix; four great grandchildren, Carrie Rose Houser, Morgan Caroline Treas, Karissa Jo Hendrix, Bentley Cain Moore; and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Bobby Joe Moore; her parents William Cumby and Mable Smith Cumby; one infant son, and a son-in-law Dewayne Hendrix Jr. Funeral services for Carolyn will be 10:00 am Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Richard Beck officiating. Margery Breese Borgerding, age 93, of Paducah, passed away at 4:52 pm on Monday, March 3, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. She was born on October 8, 1920 in Iowa City, IA to Milford Merle and Ethna Gladys (Wylie) Breese. Margery Breese Borgerding – enriched the lives of many in the community through her active involvement and leadership in the Girl Scouts, the PEO sisterhood, and the First Christian Church. She served as a scout leader for many years as her four daughters were growing up. As the Girl Scout cookie chairman for the district she oversaw the selection, distribution, and sales of the ever popular Girl Scout cookies. In her role as the Girl Scout publicity chairman, she increased an awareness of the value of scouting which had lasting benefits to the community. As a member of the PEO, a women’s group which focuses on enhancing education opportunities, she shared her passion for learning with others and sought to help improve the education opportunities for all. Margery served in the First Christian Church as a Sunday school teacher, deacon, Christian Women’s Fellowship group leader, greeter, and as the first female elder to be appointed in the church. She volunteered to organize and cook many of the special dinners at the church and was well known for her welcoming smile. While she enjoyed her church and civic activities, her biggest joy was her family. She worked tirelessly to support her husband and children to reach their goals. Her biggest gift was her unconditional love and eternal optimism. Her smile and her kind, generous, and loving sprit will live on in our memories forever. She is survived by her husband, Walter LeRoy Borgerding of Paducah; daughters, Barbara Lynn Jaquith and husband Francis T. of Louisville, KY, Janet Lee Murphy and husband Timothy Trueblood of Perth, Australia, Tracey Diane Metcalf and husband Rodney of Las Vegas, NV; grandchildren, Christopher Lee Jaquith of Louisville, Jeffrey David Jaquith of Lexington, John Henry Murphy of San Antonio, TX, Patrick Metcalf of Las Vegas, NV, Sarah Levine of Las Vegas, NV, Kristin Metcalf of Las Vegas, NV, Melissa Borgia of Conroe, TX, Nathan Borgia, and LeAndra Borgia; four great grandchildren all of Las Vegas, NV. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Margery Ann Borgia; sister, Lois Horstman; brother, Merle McKinley Breese. Funeral services for Margery Breese Borgerding will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 9, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Emma Rebecca Gore Miller, 88, of Goreville, IL, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11:29 am , surrounded by her loving family, at Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, IL. Emma Rebecca was born June 18, 1925 in Paris, TN to Ewing Randolph Gore and Mattie Thomas Oakley Gore. She married Robert Chaffin Miller on April 16, 1944. Together they shared fifty nine years of marriage until his passing on March 4, 2004. In her early years, during World War II, she worked at National Fireworks in Viola, near Mayfield, KY. Later she moved to Paducah, KY and worked at Cruses Seafood Restaurant. In her later years she sold Avon and was an antique dealer. Emma loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed Gospel music and writing songs and poetry. She was a Christian, of the Protestant Faith, and dearly loved her Lord. She last attended Goreville United Methodist Church in Goreville, IL. She was a sweet lady with a beautiful smile who loved everyone. She was called to support her family and friends with her prayers. She was a courageous lady, who lived her life as fully as possible. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her Daughter, Shirley Ann Goins and husband Manul, of Goreville, IL; her grandchildren, Gregory Manul Goins and wife Raetta, of West Frankfort, IL., Eric Lane Goins and wife JoAnne, of Goreville, IL.; her great grandchildren, Raeghan Taylor Goins and Macy Lane Goins; several nieces and nephews and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Chaffin Miller; her parents, Ewing Randolph Gore and Mattie Thomas Oakley Gore; her daughter, Bobbie Jean Miller; her sisters, Elizabeth Mae Gore Roberts, Mary Novella Gore; her brothers, Thomas Grant Gore, Paul Dolph Gore, Oliver Lee Gore, James Issac Gore and Joseph Dolph Gore.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Rev Ed Hoke will Officiate. Bruce Miles Smith, 52 of Wickliffe passed away at 5:20 p.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital. Mr. Smith was of the Baptist faith. He was an operator for New Page and member of the Local 680 USW. He is survived by his wife, LaDona Evans Smith; one daughter Kami Dawn Smith of Wickliffe; two sons, Jarett Myles Smith of Bardwell and Derek Jordan Smith of Cadiz, KY; his parents Bill and Colleen Werling Smith of Wickliffe; one brother Mark (Speedy) Smith; and three grandchildren. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his sister. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Wickliffe with Rev. Ryan Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Wickliffe City Cemetery. Visitation will be held after 5:00 p.m. Monday, March 10, 2014 at the funeral home.

Ruth Cary, 95, of Paducah, died Saturday, March 8, 2014 at 2:57 p.m. at Superior Care Home. Ruth was a member of Southland Baptist Temple where she taught Sunday School for many years and assisted with Nursing Home visitation. She was a volunteer for Western Baptist Hospital. Ruth and her late husband, James Cary were early property sub-division developers in McCracken County as well as owners and operators of Cary Poultry Farms on Clinton Road. Survivors include two daughters, Janice Barkley and husband Thomas and Gloria June Martin and husband R. Gerald both of Paducah, KY; five grandchildren, Bruce Livingston, Cary Riggs, Tracy Gusmano, Brad Barkley and Tonis Barkley; ten great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Preceding in death was her husband, James Cary and parents, Albert B. Richardson & Mae Wyatt Richardson. Services will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Lone Oak Chapel Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Jackie Davis, 88, of Paducah, died Sunday, March 9, 2014 at McCracken Nursing & Rehab at 12:40 pm. She worked in the food industry, managing the Greyhound Bus Terminal Restaurant for close to twenty years. She attended Arcadia United Methodist Church. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Brantner, of Paducah and her granddaughter, Megan Hall, of Paducah. She was preceded in death by her parents, George W. Meiers and Bessie Dodd Meiers; one sister and two brothers. Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Burial will follow at Mt. Kenton Cemetery. Anne Elizabeth Hughes Straub, 89, of Paducah, died Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital. She was born in Louisville, KY on December 18, 1924 to the late Frank Collins Hughes and Ethel Lee McKeldin Hughes. As the youngest of 5 children she received a BA Degree from the University of Louisville. Her father died when she was very young and her mother worked as a doctor’s assistant to be sure all her children had the opportunity of attending college. Inspired by her mother, Anne and her husband Earl helped all of their children also attain college degrees and more. Anne taught at several schools and performed private tutoring of various aged children. At various times of her life, she sewed, needle pointed and even held seasonal employment at a downtown Louisville department store teaching bow tying with ribbon. She also was an avid golfer. Anne was Presbyterian and attended church regularly everywhere she lived as long as she was physically able. She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, was an avid reader, frequent player of computer games, individual and on-line. At age 70, in 1995, she decided the world was leaving her behind and therefore asked her son to take her computer shopping. They bought a computer, set it up and Rick left telling her the best way to learn was to do, and in no time she was extremely computer literate. Surviving are three children, E. Frederick “Rick” Straub and wife Kris of Paducah, Janet Straub Peters of Dallas, Tx and Barbara Straub Jones and husband Harry Earl Jones, Jr. of Castle Rock, CO; six grandchildren, Barton Frederick Peters, Nicholas George Peters (wife, Elizabeth Hoag Peters), Eric Straub, Jason Straub, Keldin Patricia Jones, H. Scott Jones (wife, Michelle Jones); four great grandchildren, Anne Louise, Andrew Gerald and Amelia Frederick Peters and Chloe Lynn King. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Frederick Straub. Memorial services will be held Friday evening at 7pm at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Pastor Paul Donner officiating. Memorial visitation will begin at 5pm Friday.

Infant Addison Leann Lamm, passed away 4:56 pm Monday March, 10, 2014 at Baptist Health in Paducah. She is survived by her parents Jennifer Triebull and Brian Lamm; two sisters Trinity Lamm and Raylynn Lamm; Her grandparents are Melanie and Randy Lamm; and David and Ruth Crutcher. Graveside services for Infant Addison will be 12:30 pm Friday at Sand Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Symsonia with Rev. Presley Lamm officiating. Visistation will be from 10:00 am until 12:00 noon at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.
