Juanita Zeiss, 86 of Paducah, passed away at 8:20 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014, at the Parkview Nursing Home
Juanita had been employed at Central Photo in Paducah, and was the Office Manager at Uncle Jeff’s in Murray. She was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. Ms. Zeiss is survived by two sisters; Flora Bell Perdew and Francis Hassell of Paducah, one brother; Charles Zeiss Jr. of Jackson, TN, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; Charles Zeiss Sr. and Mary (Matheney) Zeiss, one sister; Katherine Dowdy, and one brother; Henry Zeiss. The memorial service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Aaron Dowdy and Rev. Dr. Douglas Michael Wilson, 41, of Paducah, KY, passed away at 5:25 p.m. on March 18, 2014 in Graves County, KY. Dr. Wilson was a devoted father and husband, and member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. He was a Doctor of Dermatology, owned Bluegrass Dermatology and was a member of the American Dermatology Association. He was a graduate of Carlisle County High School, received his bachelors degree from Murray State University, and graduated medical school at the University of Louisville. Dr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Melissa Mangino Wilson; two daughters, Anna Caroline Wilson and Lily Virginia Wilson both of Paducah; three sons, John Douglas Wilson, Luke Gilliam Wilson and Samuel Michael Wilson all of Paducah; his parents, Michael Freddy Wilson and Elizabeth Janet Thompson Wilson of Fancy Farm, KY; three sisters, Ellen Carrico and husband Russ of Fancy Farm, KY, Theresa Kennemore and husband Eric of Mayfield, KY and Brandi Wilson of Graves Co; three brothers, Michael Wilson, Jeremy Wilson and Nick Wilson all of Graves Co; two brothers in law, Michael J. Mangino and wife Lindsey of Louisville, KY and Matthew W. Mangino and wife Elizabeth of Paducah, KY; father and mother in law, Hilary and Virginia Hunt of Paducah; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, 2014 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Rev. Pat Reynolds and Rev. Darrell Venters officiating. Burial will follow at a later date. James Craig Thurman, 52, of Paducah died Monday, March 17, 2014, in Creve Coeur, Mo. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Murray. He was a ballroom dance instructor at Thurman School of Dance in Paducah. He is survived by one son, Curt Thurman of Paducah; one father, Charles Thurman of Cape Coral, Fla.; and one brother, Ashley Thurman of Paducah. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elsie Love Thurman. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014, at the Thurman School of Dance, 225 Brentwood Dr., Paducah, KY 42003. Imes-Miller Funeral Home of Murray is in charge of arrangements.

Fannie L Taylor, 91, of Paducah died at 1 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Brighton Cornerstone Health Care Facility in Madisonville. She served as Senior Mother of The Mothers' Board Committee and as assistant church treasurer. She was a member of Ware Memorial Church of God in Christ. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Powell of Providence; one granddaughter, Sherry Moore of Beaverton, Ore.; one grandson, Donnie T. Taylor of Dallas; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thad Taylor. Her parents were Peter Stoner and Mary Metcalfe Stoner. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Marable Temple Church of God in Christ in Providence with the Revs. Ira G. Hathaway Sr. and Marshall Chambers officiating. Michael Elder, 62, of Paducah died at 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at his home. He retired from the city of Paducah. He served in the National Guard and was of the Pentecostal faith. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Orlene Elder; one daughter, Elizabeth Michele Elder of Illinois; one stepson, Duane Allen Thompson of Paducah; two sisters, Glenda Sue Newton of Paducah and Paula Jean Burnham of Metropolis, Ill.; and two grandchildren. His parents were Raymond Jewell Elder and Betty Sue Brown Elder. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Maplelawn Park Cemetery with the Rev. Chris Brady officiating. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Friday at Keeling Family Funeral Home.

Elsie Mae Ivy, 85, of Lone Oak died at 5:28 a.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Baptist Health Paducah. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees from Murray State University and taught in the Owensboro School District and Hendron, Reidland and Farley schools in McCracken County. She was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church. She is survived by one son, Forrest Ivy of Paducah; two grandsons, Michael Ivy of Paducah and Kevin Ivy of Ledbetter; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one great-grandchild. Her parents were Marton and Ruby Wyatt Yates. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with the Revs. Forrest Ivy and Larry Davidson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2014, at the funeral home.

Jeff Franklin, 55, of Paducah died Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at his home. He is survived by his parents, Donald and Tracy Franklin of Paducah; and one brother, Jerry Franklin of Paducah. Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Hatcher officiating. Leonard R. Crowell, 69, of Paducah, passed away at 11:40 a.m. Sunday, March 16, 2014, at his residence. Mr. Crowell retired from General Tire, worked for Enterprise Car Rental Company and was of the Baptist Faith. He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Joanne Crowell of Paducah; two daughters, Rexanna Stafford and husband Jason of Frankfort and Gayla Brisentine of Paducah; four stepchildren, including Shae Noonan who was also his special caregiver; brother, Ronald Crowell of Benton; sister, Jacqueline Collie of Benton; seven adult grandchildren, Trace Brisentine, Melissa Houston, D.J. Houston, Megan Houston, Eric Houston, Courtney Walker, Chase Walker; three special small grandchildren, Madison Noonan, Olivia Noonan, Jackson Stafford; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Randy Crowell; and his parents, Ralph Leonard Crowell and Sarah Etta (Powers) Crowell. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Elder Robert Chandler officiating. Mae Fern (Hillis) King, 87, of Benton died Sunday, March 16, 2014, at Lake Way Nursing & Rehabilitation. She retired from TVA, where she worked as an information clerk. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and of the Baptist faith. She is survived by one stepson, Steve King of Gilbertsville; one stepdaughter, Kathy Joyce of Jackson, Tenn.; one son, Richard Roberts of Fayetteville, Ark.; one daughter, Mary Sue Morris of Paducah; one brother, Ben Hillis of Atkins, Ark.; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hyman King, and one brother. Her parents were Freed Hillis and Lela (Lawrence) Hillis. Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Collier Funeral Home in Benton with Rev. Rex Jones officiating. Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Louise Willett, 86, of Calvert City, died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City. Mrs. Willett was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She worked for many years at Hutchens Restaurant as a waitress, and retired from Benton True Value. She was the co-owner of Benton Locker Plant. Born Tuesday, February 28, 1928, in Fancy Farm, she was the daughter of the late Aubry Carrico and the late Mae Carrico. She was the wife of the late James Leon Willett. Surviving are daughters, Marilyn Derington of Benton and Ellen Erwin of Benton; brother, Bob Carrico of Cincinnati, Ohio; sister, Anna Elliott of Fancy Farm; grandchildren, Craig Hanley of Calhoun, Ga., Brandi Campbell of Herrin, Ill., Emily Erwin of Louisville and Amy Erwin of Murray; and great-grandchildren, Rachel Hanley of Calhoun, Ga., and Nate and Luke Campbell of Herrin, Ill. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; sons, Steve Willett and James Leon Willett Jr.; brother, Rudy Carrico; sisters, Lennora Carrico, Lena Willett and Ruth Sutherland; and one great-grandchild, Leni Campbell. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Fancy Farm with Father Anthoni Ottagan officiating. Interment will follow in St. Jerome Cemetery in Fancy Farm. Visitation will be held between the hours of 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Collier Funeral Home with rosary at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to: American Heart Association, Great Rivers Affiliate, P.O. Thomas A. Rottinghaus, 56, of Murray died Monday, March 17, 2014, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital. Mr. Rottinghaus, a native of Covington, was retired from the Kentucky State Police. He was the owner of Rottinghaus Accident Reconstruction Services and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was chairman of the Code of Enforcement Board of Murray and was a volunteer for the Humane Society of Calloway County. He was a certified instructor for the Department of Criminal Justice Training. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Smith Rottinghaus; one brother, John Rottinghaus of Villa Hills; and four nephews. His parents were Robert and Anna Mersh Rottinghaus.

Helen Marie Drake, 91, of Mayfield died Wednesday, March 19, 2014, at Green Acres Healthcare in Mayfield. She was a retired hairdresser and a member of High Point Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Don Drake and Cody Drake, both of Mayfield; two daughters, Shirley Gough and Dolores "Larky" Colbert, both of Mayfield; three brothers, Jack Hawkins and Billy Hawkins, both of Mayfield, and Donald Wayne Hawkins of Wingo; three sisters, Joann Roberts of Mayfield, Peggy Alexander of Pryorsburg and Patsy Nall of Mayfield; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Drake Jr.; and five sisters. Her parents were Roscoe Hawkins and Roxie Mae Rodgers Hawkins. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014, at Mayfield Memory Gardens with the Revs. Brad Morris and Joe Hansen officiating.
