Martha Sue Swansey, 85, of Benton, KY passed away at 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Lake Way Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Detroit, MI and worked as a waitress. She is survived by her son, Philenus McKinley Westbay of Murray, KY; daughter, Michele Peek of Paducah, KY; brother, Phillip Allen of Hickory, KY; five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Swansey and three brothers. Her parents were McKinley Allen and Beulah Speed Allen. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with the Rev. Rodney Cude officiating. Burial will follow in the Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April, 17, 2014 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home.

Retha Adell York, 87, of Benton died Monday, April 14, 2014, at her home. She was a homemaker and member of Hamlet Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Harold York and Stevie York, both of Benton; two daughters, Brenda Hamlet and Bernita Newcomb, both of Benton; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Onis "Red" York; one sister; and one brother. Her parents were James Henry Jones and Nora Ethel (Penney) Jones. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Collier Funeral Chapel of Benton with the Revs. Glenn Cope and C.C. Brasher officiating. Judy Allen, 85, of Benton died at 4:35 p.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital. She retired from M&G Transportation, where she worked as a towboat cook. She is survived by four daughters, Sandra K. Allen, Barbara Jean Bailey, and Tamela York, all of Benton, and Charlotte Marie Allen of Hardin; four sisters, Polly Henson of Benton, Violet Sanders of Paris, Tenn., Anna Belle Whitthorne of Springfield, Ill., and Joyce Palazzolo of Baldwin, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Eddie Allen; one son, Charles Wayne Allen; one daughter, Judy Carol Mullen; one grandson; two brothers; and four sisters. Her parents were Luther Anderson Fitch and Mary Magdalene (Ellis) Fitch. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at Collier Funeral Home in Benton with the Rev. Charles Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in Bevil Cemetery in Paris, Tenn. Mark Tolbert, 31, of Benton, Kentucky, passed away at 9:46 a.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014, at his home. He worked in the maintenance department at the Kentucky State Penitentiary. He was the chaplain of the Marshall County Rescue Squad and a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Mark is survived by his children, Madison, Kaitlyn, Justin and Gracie; his mother, Gail Uzzle Stafford of Calvert City; his father, Michael Tolbert of Benton; his brother, Matthew Tolbert of Henderson; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Cora Uzzle of Calvert City; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Jeremy Tolbert; one nephew, Eric Tolbert; and his paternal grandparents, Neal and Elizabeth Tolbert. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Filbeck-Cann & King Funeral Home. Emma Evoyne Fitzpatrick, 60, of Gilbertsville, formerly of Byhalia, Mississippi, died Saturday at her sister's residence in Gilbertsville. Ms. Fitzpatrick was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Surviving are one daughter, Christy Gaines of Ledbetter; two granddaughters, Haley Boggs of Ledbetter, Isabella Gaines of Ledbetter; one great-grandson, Braxton Boggs of Ledbetter; three brothers, Jack (Carol) Bingham of Houma, Louisiana, Bobby (Jan) Bingham of Lexington, Ky., Bruce (Denise) Bingham of Phoenix, Arizona; four sisters, Ruby Howard of Ledbetter, Rose (Arleigh) Knoth of Gilbertsville, Edith (Ron) Shutle of St. Louis, Mo., and Marsha (Rodney) Wilkins of Paducah. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Juanita Bingham, and four brothers. Celebration of her life will be at 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014, at Smith Funeral Chapel in Smithland. Interment will be at Camp Nelson Veterans Cemetery in Nicholasville, Ky., at a later date. Carolyn Thomas Cunningham, 70, of Cadiz died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at her home. She had worked at Wal-Mart in Hopkinsville. She was a member of the Church of God. She is survived by two daughters, Nikki Cunningham and Kim Hargrove, both of Cadiz; and two sisters, Linda Taylor and Debbie Calhoun, both of Cadiz. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Billy" Johnson Cunningham. Her parents were Tommie Thomas and Nora Mae Thomas. No services are scheduled. Huel Trevathon West Jr., 70, of Puryear, Tenn., died Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Mr. West was self-employed as a welder and commercial fisherman and he attended Oak Grove Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Dimple West; one daughter, Amy Smith of Hazel; three grandchildren; one sister, Belinda Anderson of Murray; and two nieces. His parents were Huel Trevathon West and Illa Nell Taylor West. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Van Russell and William Beasley officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Heritage Family Funeral Home. Russell L. Walker, 54, of Paducah went to be with the Lord on Tuesday April 15, 2014, at Lourdes hospital in Paducah. Mr. Walker worked for many years at the Walker Antique Store. He was an avid arrowhead collector and adored his three dogs. Surviving are one brother, Johnny (Phyllis) Walker of Paducah; one sister, Sherry Leek of Paducah; one niece, Melissa Leek; three nephews, Jason Leek, Rick Stubblefield, John Walker; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John William Walker and Florence (Whitson) Walker.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Lindsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Carter officiating. Burial will be in Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Ms. Snodgrass died at 9:04 p.m. Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Baptist Health Paducah. Ms. Snodgrass was formerly employed with Florsheim Shoe Co. and was a member of Victory Baptist Church of Paducah. She is survived by one son, Tim Snodgrass of Paducah; one granddaughter, Whitney Brooke Snodgrass of Paducah; four brothers and one sister, all of Detroit; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the funeral home.

Ronald Lee Stonecipher, 74, of Paducah, died Tuesday at 9:17 pm at Baptist Health Paducah. Ron was born in Iuka, Illinois on April 29, 1939. He was a founding member and managing partner of Western Rivers Insurance Agency until his retirement. Ron was a member of Rotary Club, Paducah Area Chamber of Commerce, McCracken County Homebuilder’s Association, and Paducah-McCracken County Riverport Authority Board and former member of Gideons International. An avid golfer, Ron was a member of Country Club of Paducah. A member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church for over forty years, he was formerly Chairman of the Deacons and taught Sunday School. Ron is survived by his beloved family, wife Jackie Kincade Stonecipher; children, Debbie King and husband Jim of Marietta, Ga, Tammy Mitchell of Paducah, Julie Mollette and husband Jim of Murray, and Tim Stonecipher of Paducah; step children, Eve Dukes and husband Rob of Bowling Green, KY and Jason Armstrong and wife Morgan of Greenville, Ky; a sister, Pat Woolford and husband Jerry of Schaumburg, IL; 14 grandchildren and 14 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Bell Stonecipher. Funeral services will be held at 2pm Friday at Lone Oak First Baptist Church with Dr. Dan Summerlin and Rev. Mike Williams officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Louise Price, 91, of Mayfield died Monday, April 14, 2014, at Green Acres Healthcare in Mayfield. She was a homemaker and member of Hickory Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons, James Larry Price of Pryorsburg, Paul Donald Price of Lowes, Glyn Dale Price of Hickory and Ricky Lynn Price of Mayfield; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Price; one daughter, Sandra Jean Price Cochrum; three brothers; and two sisters. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at Byrn Funeral Home with the Revs. C.W. Virginia Frances Johnston, 87, of Mayfield died at 8:30 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014, at her home. She was a retired nurse's aide and a member of the former New Beginnings Church in Mayfield. She is survived by her husband, Richard Floyd Johnston; two sons, Richard Lee Johnston of Mayfield and Floyd William Johnston of Willow Springs, Mo.; and three grandchildren. Her parents were William H. and Anna May (Beasley) Muscovalley. Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home in Mayfield with the Rev. Dorothy "June" Crider, 86, of Murray died Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at her home. She was a member of Elm Grove Baptist Church and First Baptist Church in Murray. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Albert Crider; one daughter, Kathy Crider Long of Benton; two grandchildren, Eric Long of Benton and Evan Long of Lexington; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister. Her parents were Horace and Mae Wilkerson Williams.

Graveside services for Myrtle Duncan, 88, of Murray will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at Center Ridge Cemetery with Bill Miller officiating. Mrs. Duncan died Monday, April 14, 2014, at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray.
Mrs. Duncan retired from Murray State University's housekeeping department and was a member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church. Mrs. Duncan was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Duncan; two sisters; and three brothers. Her parents were John Wesley Miller and Lavada Garland Miller. Mrs. Duncan is survived by four daughters, Judy Hale, Freda McBee and K. William "Bill" Berg, 83, of Murray died Monday, April 14, 2014, at Spring Creek Health Care in Murray. He had worked in construction and was a building contractor, a heavy equipment operator and a member of Local 150 for 59 years. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict. He is survived by his wife, Helen (Walton) Berg; one daughter, Amy Berg of Austin, Texas; one stepdaughter, Greta Geller of Fairfax, Va.; one brother, Robert Berg of Paris, Tenn.; and two step granddaughters. He was preceded in death by one brother. His parents were Otis Berg and Edna (Arndt) Berg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home with the Rev. Matt Ellis officiating.
