Martha Sills Swanson, 88, of Paducah, KY passed away at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at the Metropolis Nursing Home in Metropolis, IL. She is survived by her brothers, Rev. Terry Sills of Paducah, KY and Joe Douglas Sills of Florida; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Mt. Kenton Cemetery with the Rev. Terry Sills officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014 at the Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah.
Dana Sue Hobbs, 50, of Paducah passed away at 3:05 am April, 23, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital. She is survived by her mother Sue Lambert Hobbs of Paducah, one brother Daryl Hobbs and wife Teresa of Paducah; and two nieces and two nephews. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday, April, 25, 2014 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Kevin Thomas, 55, of Paducah, died Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at his home. He was a self-employed auto mechanic.
He is survived by one son, Andrew Thomas of Paducah; one brother, Walter Thomas of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; one sister, Sheena Fraley of Live Oak, Fla.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers. His parents were Walter Howard and Delphia Stonestreet Thomas. There are no services scheduled.

Darlene Michelle Gray, 45, of Paducah died Monday, April 21, 2014, at Lourdes hospital in Paducah. Surviving are two sons, Joshua Thomas Gray of Paducah and Jonathon Wayne Lee of Bradford, Tenn.; two brothers, Franklin Willett of Wingo and Ronnie Willett of Fancy Farm; two sisters, Dianna Brittain and Donna Winstead, both of Mayfield; and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis Ann Walker, 77, of Paducah, formerly of Boaz, passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014, at 11:48 a.m. at Parkview Nursing and Rehabilitation. Patsy, as she was known, was born in Paducah, Ky., on June 17, 1936, to Charles and Jessie Thompson. She participated in the Rainbow Girls and was a longtime member of the Eastern Star. She was part owner and operator of Small World Day Care. She attended Houser Grove Church Of Christ and Victory Assembly Worship Center. Patsy was a spiritual person who will be remembered for her love of children and enjoyment of life.
Patsy was survived by her daughter, Susie Walker and Michael Hett, of Paducah, Ky.; her sons, Bob L. Walker and wife Carol of Graves County, Ky., Joey Mason Walker of Paducah, Ky., and Allie Mason Walker and wife Mary of Louisville, Ky.; her brother, Jerry Thompson and wife Lana of Boaz, Ky.; her sister, Misty Owen of Paducah; her brothers-in-law, Chuck of Peoria, Ill., and Gary of Golconda, Ill.; her sister-in-law, Margie of Peoria, Ill.; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Patsy was preceded in death by her husband, James Ray "Junior" Walker; her parents, Charles B. Thompson and Jessie Gladys Lewis Thompson; and one sister. James C. Rose, 94, of Benton, Kentucky, died on Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at his home in Benton, Kentucky. He was retired from the Pipefitters Local 184 and a 50-year member of Lakeview Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served during World War II. Born Thursday, February 5, 1920, in Mystic, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Lee Rose and the late Lilly Ann (Eskridge) Rose. Surviving are his sons, Ralph Rose and wife Linda of Benton, Ky., and James "Eddie" Rose and wife Brenda of Lewisport, Ky.; daughter, Brenda Wynn and husband Larry of Madisonville, Ky.; sisters, Mable Boernson of Danville, Ill., and Violet Parker of Troy, Ind.; grandchildren, Crystal Rose, Carl Rose, Jason Wynn, Jana Wynn Williamson, Alison Rose Sumner and Brent Rose; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Bland) Rose; infant son, Gary Lee Rose; stepson, Ernest Horn; brothers: Ralph Lewis Rose, Woodrow Wilson Rose and Charles Earl Rose; sisters: Etta May Smoots, Elizabeth Allen and Margaret Smith. William Horace Sledd, 94, of Benton died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at his son's home in Benton. He was a retired operator and 50-year member of the Operating Engineers Local 181 and also retired from the Marshall County Road Department where he worked as a laborer. He was a farmer. He was a member of New Hope Primitive Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by one son, Frankie Sledd of Benton; one daughter, Betsy Ross of Kingman, Ariz.; one brother, C.H. Sledd of Mimms, Fla.; and two sisters, Rose Crotzer of Reidland and Ruby Nell Davis of Sharpe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita Virginia (Cone) Sledd; two brothers; and three sisters. His parents were Hurley Sledd and Nannie Mary (King) Sledd. Betty Knees, 87, of Benton, passed away at 11:25 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014, at Lourdes hospital. She was a member of St. Matthews by the Lake Lutheran Church. She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl Linskey of Elk Grove Village, Ill.; two sons, Kevin Knees and his wife Rhonda Lynn of Benton and Jeffrey Brian Knees of Paducah; nine grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson and her husband Dammond, Scott Linskey and his wife Erica, Justyn Knees and his wife Amy Duncan Knees, Lyndsi Knees, Heather ReneeÂ´ Henson and her husband Matt, Eric Douglas Knees, Laken Nicole Fletcher and her husband Josh, Casey Lynn Lofton and his wife Crystal, Nathan Lofton and his wife Jessie; and four great-grandchildren, Landon Henson, Davis Fletcher, Feenix Lofton and Jocelyn Lofton. John Henry Bowker, 84, of Murray died Monday, April 21, 2014, at his home. He retired as a grocery salesman. After retirement, he was employed by Gene and Jo's Florist in Murray. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Joan Bowker; one son, James David Bowker of Hernando, Miss.; one half sister, Sandy Bowker of Clarksville, Tenn.; one half brother, Dan Bowker of Palmyra, Tenn.; and two grandchildren. His parents were James G. Bowker and Thelma C. Bowker.
