Darwin L. Reed, 80, of Paducah died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Baptist Health Paducah. Ronnie "Skeeter" McDonald, 65, of Paducah passed away on Sunday evening at home. He was a truck driver for Lynn Martin Bait Company for many years. He is survived by one son; one daughter; two brothers, Mike and Donnie McDonald of Paducah; three sisters, Brenda (Raymond) Jimison of Paducah, Betty Scarborough of West Paducah and Mary (Harold) Craven of Kevil; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Mary Ruby Martin McDonald; two brothers, Bert Louis McDonald and Bobby Ray McDonald; and one nephew, Jerry Dickey. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 2nd, at Lindsey Funeral Home from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with funeral service following at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Tim Smith officiating. Amy Renee Horice, 41, of Paducah, died at 2:59 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Lourdes hospital. She was of Church of Christ faith and formerly employed as a cook at Steak'N Shake. She is survived by three daughters, Alicia R. Horice of Brookport, Ill., and Astarry L. Horice and Priscilla Williams, both of Paducah; one son, Tyre Moore of Cairo, ll.; her parents, Jerry Crittendon of Palmersville, Tenn., and Lottie Polledo of Clinton; one brother, Jeff Crittendon of Dyersburg, Tenn.; one sister, Teresa Boane of Gleason, Tenn.; three nephews; and one niece. She was preceded in death by one sister. Services will be at noon Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Pettus-Rowland Funeral Home with Antoine Hutcheson officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Ted Richard Reed Sr., 69, of Paducah died Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Lourdes hospital in Paducah. Mr. Reed was a retired welder from Paducah Marine Ways. Surviving are his wife, Judy Reed; one son, Ted Reed Jr. of Paducah; one daughter, Patty Diane Faulkner of Golconda, Ill.; two brothers, Kenneth Reed of Paducah and Ronnie Reed of Gilbertsville; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. His parents were Earl and Thelma Reed. No services are planned at this time. Lindsey Funeral Home of Paducah is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Fredric Coltharp, 95, of Sedalia died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at his residence. He was the former pastor of the Re-organized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Tri-City. He was also a retired farmer. Mr. Coltharp is survived by three sons, Donald (Linda) Coltharp of Farmington, Bobby Ed Coltharp of Sedalia and Gerald (Shirley) Coltharp of Sedalia; one daughter, Cathy (John) Sheppard of Farmington; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind special caregivers, Lisa Riley, Elizabeth May and Sharla Payne, all of Mayfield. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Jane Ford Coltharp; parents, Ed and Ila Griffin Coltharp; sister, Freida Stubblefield; and daughter-in-law, Barbara Coltharp. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 4, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Byrn Funeral Home with John Sheppard officiating. Burial will be in Spence Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Nichols died at 4:58 a.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center in Mayfield. He was an auto parts salesman. Mr. Nichols is survived by two sisters, Daisy Mae Nichols of Mayfield and Cassandra Nichols of Conroe, Texas. He was preceded in death by one half brother. Virginia J. Stahr, age 87, of Mayfield, Ky., died at 5:35 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014, at the Mills Health and Rehab Center in Mayfield. Virginia was of the Catholic Faith and was a registered nurse and vocational school teacher. Surviving are six sons, Bill Stahr (Nancy), Greg Stahr (Teresa), Ben Stahr (Julie), Mark Stahr (Janette), Andrew Stahr and Jeff Stahr (Tes); one daughter, Amy Stahr Magill (Mark); 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, David C. Stahr; one daughter, Ruth Anna Stahr; one sister; and two brothers. Her parents were William L. Jolley Sr. and Ruth Jonakin Jolley. Graveside services for Virginia will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, July 3, 2014, at St. Joseph Cemetery in Mayfield. Father Eric Riley will officiate. There will be no visitation. Billy "Dan" Stokes, 83, of New Johnsonville, Tenn., and Louisville, formerly of Murray, died Saturday, June 28, 2014, at Three Rivers Hospital in Waverly, Tenn. He was a retired truck driver, of the Baptist faith and a member of the Kilwinning Masonic Lodge in Louisville. He is survived by his wife, Wilma G. Stokes of Louisville; two daughters, Rhonda Boyd of Billings, Mont., and Kathy Marie Crum of St. John, Virgin Island; one son, Dan Allen Stokes of Las Vegas; one sister, Carolyn Draffenville of Paris, Tenn.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Latricia Travis and twin sister, Anne Fox. His parents were Haley Stokes and Lorell (Cathey) Stokes. Masonic service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 3, 2014, at J.H. Churchill Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Murray City Cemetery. Mr. William Barnett Kent, III, 70, of Calvert City, KY, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014 at his home. Mr. Kent was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army; serving two tours; earning a purple heart, three bronze stars, national defense service metal, Vietnam service medal, Vietnam campaign medal with 60 device, and the combat infantryman badge. He retired from the United States Post Office after 19 years of service; and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1191 in Paducah, the Elks club, and the American Legion. Mr. Kent is survived by his wife of 36 years, Jacque Kent; one son, Kris Kent and his wife Becky of Dyersburg, TN; and two grandchildren, Hannah and Mattie Kent. He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. Kent, II and Elizabeth P. Kent. Graveside funeral services with military rites will be Thursday, July 3, 3014, at 1PM, at Pinckneyille Cemetery.
