Delora Dean Hurt went home at 6:50 a.m. on Sunday, November, 9, 2014 at her residence. She was 86 years young. Born as Delora R. Dean in Brookport, IL on June 12, 1928. Delora was a member of First Baptist Church Paducah where she was a Sunday School teacher. She was a Wife, Mother and Grandmamma while also being a Patrol Lady, Cub Scout Den Mother and Homeroom Mother. A graveside service led by Jason Hurt, was November 12, 2014 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Wallace E. Lawrence, age 81 of Boaz, KY passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 7:15 a.m. at his residence. Wallace was a member of Lone Oak First Baptist Church, a veteran of U.S. Army having served during the Korean Conflict. Wallace was a graduate of Reidland High School and attended Paducah Junior College. He was a supervisor for Illinois Central Railroad Shops where he supervised building and repairing locomotives. He was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan and enjoyed drag racing and 1965 & 1966 cars and trucks. Tamara Jeanne "Tammi" Simmons, 55, of Mayfield, KY died Monday at 5:30 pm at her home. Tammi was born on September 20, 1959 to Buddy and Mattie Duncan Simmons. She retired from the Mayfield/Graves County Fire Department as an Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic. She also had worked at Jackson Purchase Medical Center Emergency Room. She attended the Church of Christ. An avid motorcycle rider, Tammi loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and was a member of Patriot Guard Riders. Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Allcock Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5-8 pm. Martha Nell Anderson, age 87, of Mayfield, Kentucky, passed away, Saturday, November 8, 2014, at Heritage Manor in Mayfield. Martha Nell was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church and served on its Session. She also was a former member of the Board of Directors of the Mayfield-Graves County Animal Shelter, the Food Pantry Board, and the American Association of University Women (AAUW). She also was a member of the Mayfield-Graves County Retired Teachers' Association. A graduate of Murray State University, she was a retired educator, having taught English for 35 years in Illinois, Graves County (Wingo), and Mayfield High School. Funeral services for Martha Nell were November 13, 2014, at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield with Dr. Jerry Mayes officiating. Burial at Maplewood Cemetery. Lillian Preston Camfield Gabbard, 85, of Louisville, formerly of Cadiz, died Tuesday, November 11, 2014, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. She retired from American Cigar, where she worked in the accounts payable department. Graveside services will be at a later date at Kentucky Veteran's Cemetery West in Hopkinsville. Cecil Louard Wynn, 66, of Cadiz died Monday, November 10, 2014, at his home. He had worked at ITT Grinnell & Arvin Industries in Princeton and Lake Barkley State Resort Park in Cadiz. Ronald L. Bennett, 71, of Belleair Bluffs, Florida, passed away at his home Tuesday morning, November 11, 2014. Ron was born Saturday, May 22, 1943, to Ray Bennett and Fern Rigney Bennett in Detroit, Michigan. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and graduated from Benton High School and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science. Ron began working at Matthews Funeral Home in St. Petersburg when he was sixteen years old, and later owned the Arlington Memorial Funeral Home in St. Petersburg Florida; and finally worked his last ten years in funeral service for the Hubbell Funeral Home in Belleair Bluffs. Ron was of the Baptist faith. Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014, at Filbeck-Cann and King Funeral Home. Rev. K. Alan Miller will officiate and burial will follow in the Benton Cemetery. The family will receive friends after 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at Filbeck-Cann and King Funeral Home.
