Rex G. Lynn, age 79 of Paducah, passed away at 9:25 am on January 25, 2015 at Superior Care Home. Mr. Lynn was a member of the Grahamville Masonic Lodge #707. He was of the Baptist Faith. Richard "Ricky" Powers, 39, of Paducah, died Sunday in Nashville. Ricky was a graduate of Lone Oak High School where he played football. Kathryn Marie Moore, 84 of Paducah passed away at 6:10AM on Friday, January 23, 2015 at the Barkley Center in Paducah. She was of the Methodist faith and retired from AT&T. Deacon John L. Shoulta, age 78, of Paducah, KY, formerly of Shelbyville, KY, passed away at 3:40 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Cobden Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Cobden, IL. Deacon Shoulta was a graduate of St. John High School, earned an associate's degree at Paducah Community College and was a graduate of Pastoral Ministry Studies at Spalding University. He was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, was ordained as a Deacon of the Catholic Church in August of 1999, was a Deacon at Church of the Annunciation in Shelbyville, KY and at St. John Chrysostom in Eminence, KY. He was a retired vice president of sales with Eminence Speaker Co., a member of the Knights of Columbus, a KY Colonel and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with Fr. Brian Roby officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015 at Milner & Orr Funeral Home of Paducah. Fredia Joyce Lantrip, age 55, of Paducah, passed away at 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at her residence. Mrs. Lantrip was of the Baptist faith, a housewife, was formerly employed with Florsheim Shoe Factory and Cherry The Florist. There will be no services. Ollie Gene Nichols, 81, of Paducah who lived in Providence KY for a short time, passed away at 5:20 pm on Tuesday, January, 27, 2014 at Baptist Health Paducah. Ollie was a member and Trustee of Providence General Baptist Church , and a former member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served as Deacon. He retired from General Tire in Mayfield. He was a United States Army Veteran, and he was the Chaplin for VFW Post 5484 in Providence KY. George F. Cmarik, born December 11, 1919, died on Monday, January 26, 2015 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD.A long-time resident of Paducah, he had recently moved to be with his daughter and her family in Frederick. A funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. J. Patrick Reynolds at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, February 2, 2015 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Melvie L. Cork Lowery, age 75, of Paducah, Kentucky, died on Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at Landmark Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at 9:10 a.m. She was formerly employed by the Supreme Life Insurance Company and Bright's Department Store, and was a volunteer at Western Baptist Hospital in the gastroenterology department. She retired as a Kynar chemical operator from Arkema Chemicals, Inc., in Calvert City, Kentucky. She was recently employed by Sam's Club/Crosswalk until her health failed. She was a dedicated member of Washington Street Missionary Baptist Church, serving on the Senior Usher Board and the Faith and Food Ministry. She was also a member of Pamper Inc. and served on the W.C. Young Community Center Board of Directors. She served on the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast and the 8th of August Committee's and was a member of the Civi-Mu-So-Lit Organization. The family will receive visitors from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2015, at the Washington Street Missionary Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, January 31, 2015, at the church where friends may call at 11 a.m. until the funeral hour. The Reverend Raynarldo Henderson will officiate and entombment will follow in Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Mildred Hayes, 94, of Paducah passed away at 11:20 a.m. Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Southgate Nursing Home in Metropolis, Ill. Mrs. Hayes was a retired department manager at Woolco Dept. Store and a member at Oaklawn Baptist Church for 76 years. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015, at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with the Rev. Tommy Williams officiating. Mary Colburn, age 89, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Calvert City, died Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Calvert City Convalescent Center in Calvert City, Ky. Mrs. Colburn was born and raised in Murray, Ky. She was a homemaker and was a member of Calvert City United Methodist Church. Arrangements are being handled by Collier Funeral Home, Benton, Ky. Memorial services will be at Calvert City United Methodist Church at 4 p.m. Saturday, January 31, 2015. Dorothy Williams, 81, of Princeton died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at her home. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church and retired as a seamstress at Princeton Hosiery Mill.
