Robert L. Higdon, age 85, of Paducah Kentucky, died Friday, March 20, 2015 at Lourdes Hospital. Bob was born to parents Lucille Roof Higdon and Dr. Orion Leon Higdon on February 28, 1930 in Lexington Kentucky. His spirit is carried on by his wife of 62 years Cleo Smith Higdon; We invite you to join with us to celebrate his life on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with a memorial Mass beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Fr. Larry Bigham, 58, of Paducah, KY passed away at 4:44 p.m. Sunday, March 22, 2015 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. He was born in Pinkneyville, IL. Larry was a Chemistry Professor for West Kentucky Community and Technical College. He was a graduate of Southern Illinois University where he received his Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree. He was a member of the St. Bruno Catholic Church in Pinkneyville, IL. Larry was a member of the American Chemical Society and the Kentucky Academy of Sciences.Funeral services were March 26, 2015 at the Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Rev. J. Carolyn Marie Brandon Bains, 72, of Paducah, died Monday at her home. She had attended University of Southern California, retired as a manager of resort hotels and assisted living facilities, and was a member of Lone Oak Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held at 11am Friday at Lone Oak Chapel of Milner & Orr Funeral Home with Paul Wingfield and Blake Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Services for Helen Jones Knight, 65, of Smithland will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, March, 22, 2015 at The Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Ledbetter KY. Dean Devine Akin, 74, of Paducah, died Friday, March 20, 2015 at Lourdes Hospital. Dean was born in Calvert City, KY on September 26, 1940 to the late Samuel Clete Devine and Hester Butler Devine. She was a graduate of North Marshall High School. Dean was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church. Taking care of her family was her greatest joy in life. Lucille Potter Champion, 85, of Paducah, KY passed away at 7:56 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at Baptist Health of Paducah. She was born in Livingston county, KY. Lucille was a member of the Rosebower Baptist Church. Graveside services were March 26, 2015 at the Iuka Cemetery in Livingston County. Phyllis Hicks, one of the most caring Christian women, was called Home on Sunday, March 22, 2015, following a long, five-month hospitalization. Phyllis was a wonderful woman and a big supporter of her family, her church, Melbourne Heights Baptist Church, her husband, Pat, and the Kentucky Grocers Association. Both Pat and Phyllis were inducted into the KGA/KACS Hall of Fame in 2010. Phyllis always had a great interest and love for helping children. While living in Mayfield, Kentucky, she opened her home as a boarding home for children attending the Charles L. She'd Research Academy. During those eight years, 51 children lived with Phyllis, Pat and family. Once she moved to Louisville, she continued her interest in helping children at the church day care and also helped many senior citizens. Visitation will be at Byrn Funeral Home, 1020 Paris Road, on Sunday, March 29, 2015, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mayfield Memory Gardens. Edward James Iseminger, of Gilbertsville, beloved Husband, Father and Stepfather, died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at his home; he was 84. "Ed" was larger than life and revered by all who knew him. Ed and Pat moved to Gilbertsville 34 years ago, where they built their home and life together. He retired from the National Cash Register Corporation after working 41 years as a Field Engineer. He was a member of St. Matthew by the Lake Lutheran Church of Benton. Ed volunteered with the Coast Guard Auxiliary, performing safety patrols on Kentucky Lake. He also served as a Scoutmaster for the Boy Scouts from 1967-1974. Eight of the Boy Scouts he led achieved the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. He was an avid traveler, and had many amazing adventures touring the country state by state in his camper. A celebration of Ed's life will be held at a later date. Gary Swatzell, 64, of Princeton died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. He attended Lamasco Baptist Church and was a retired tobacco farmer and truck driver for Max Arnold. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Morgan's Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Dean Ray officiating. Burial will follow in Rogers Cemetery in Christian County. Jack L. Smith, 67, of Calvert City passed away at 5:53 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Lourdes hospital. Mr. Smith was a Security Guard and part-owner of Kentucky Special Police, a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of First Baptist Church of Paducah and American Legion Post 31 of Paducah. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Hughes Funeral Home of Paducah with Rev. Tommy Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Heyward Roberts, 81, of Murray died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at his home. He was a U. S. Army veteran and a minister serving several Baptist churches in Calloway and Marshall counties. Patricia Ann Seay, 85, of Danville, Indiana, formerly of Mayfield, died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at her home. She was a retired teacher, former owner of the Podunk Trading Post and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mayfield. Funeral Mass will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, at Byrn Funeral Home in Mayfield with the Rev. Eric Riley officiating. Interment will follow in Rhodes Chapel Cemetery. Marianna Willett McClaran, 97, formerly of Mayfield, died Saturday, March 21, 2015, at her daughter's home in Franklin, Tennessee. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2015, at St. Jerome Catholic Church in Fancy Farm, where friends may call after 9 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2015. Burial will be in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
