John F. Floyd, age 92, of Paducah, KY, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 at 11:20 a.m. at his home. Mr. Floyd was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, a charter member of Rolling Hills Country Club, a member of Elks Club, V.F.W. and the American Legion. He was a U.S. Army Decorated Veteran having served under General George S. Patton in WWII. He was an avid supporter of the UK Wildcats Basketball and St. Louis Cardinals Baseball. Mr. Floyd is survived by his daughter, Lisa Floyd Chapman and husband Tony of Hendersonville, TN; two sons, John Floyd and wife Gina of Paducah, KY, Hal Nance Bogard and wife Elizabeth of Louisville, KY; seven grandchildren, Brandon Chapman, April Thomas and husband Corey, Eleanor MacLeod and husband John, Nancy Bogard, Johnna Floyd Key and husband Jon, Creighton Floyd, Chanyng Floyd; two great-grandchildren, Juliet MacLeod and Miles MacLeod; special friend, Shirley Renaud of Paducah, KY and "Geezer" Golf friends at Rolling Hills, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Floyd was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor Lee Nance Floyd; parents, John Clarence and Susan Edna Wedding Floyd; one sister, Magdeline Bonnell; two brothers, Milburn "Mel" Floyd, Richard "Dick" Floyd. Funeral mass for Mr. Floyd will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with Father Brad Whistle officiating. Burial will follow at Maplelawn Park Cemetery. Sue Torian Seelye, 82, of Paducah, died Monday, September 28, 2015 at her residence. Sue was born in Paducah on August 2, 1933 to the late Carl William Torian and Laura Belle Edwards Torian. She was a longtime member of Trinity Baptist Church. Sue retired after 35 years spent as a teacher for McCracken County School System and was a member of McCracken County/Paducah Retired Teacher Association and Kentucky Retired Teacher Association. Sue enjoyed attending auctions, garage sales, and collecting antiques. She was an avid bridge player. She is survived by her loving family, Gaile Hayes of Paducah, Susan Seelye-Swarting and husband Finn of New Canaan, CT, Arthur Seelye, Jr. of Paducah and Will Seelye of Nashville; three grandchildren, Anna Hayes of Louisville, Bjorn Swarting of New Canaan, CT, and Linnea Swarting of Nashville; two brothers, Carl E. Torian of Paducah and Joe Torian and wife Gina of Paducah; three nieces and four nephews; and a wide group of friends whom she adored. She was preceded in death by her husband, Art L. Seelye, Sr.; one niece; one nephew; and her parents.

Wilson Kegler, 82, of Paducah died Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Baptist Health Paducah. Mr. Kegler was a retired mechanic. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Kegler; five sons, Anthony Walker, Jermaine Kegler, Emmanuel Kegler, Benjie Wells and Jimmy Wells; three daughters, Tonya Norman, Denise and Venise; and two grandchildren. Mrs. Marjorie Carter McDonald, age 87, of Mayfield passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2015, at Jackson Purchase Medical Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Mayfield and a homemaker. Mrs. McDonald is survived by her son, Barry (Carla) McDonald of Mayfield, Kentucky, and one granddaughter, Courtney Rae McDonald of Washington, D.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis W. "Coach Mac" McDonald; and her parents, Raymond and Betty Carter. Rosalee Ann "Rose" McClure, 52, of the Tri City community died Monday, September 28, 2015, at Murray-Calloway County Hospital. Mrs. McClure was a member of New Salem Baptist Church and was a former secretary for the Navy Air System Command in Virginia. She was an associate for Wal-Mart in Murray. She is survived by her husband, Stevie McClure of Sedalia; her parents, Andrew J. and Marie (Boteler) Key of Sun City West, Arizona; two brothers, David Geigle of Seal Beach, California, and Jeff Key of Morgantown, West Virginia. John T. "Big Daddy" Jackson, 95, of Mayfield died at 12:54 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at his home. Mr. Jackson was a retired truck driver. Survivors include six daughters, Evelyn Bolden, Jane Young, Martha Brown, Edna Brown, Sheca Lowe and Denise Lowe, all of Mayfield; eight sons, Michael S. Jackson of Mayfield, Keith Jackson of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Lagene Brown of Louisville, Freddrick Brown of Mayfield, John Brown of Mayfield, Michael Horton of Elkhart, Indiana, Welton Jackson of Mayfield and Leroy Hagen of Mayfield; one brother, Goble Jackson of Mayfield; two sisters, Virgil Ford and Hallie Williams, both of New York; 44 grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Catherine Jackson; one son, Harold Hunt; and 19 brothers and sisters. His parents were Tom and Edna Hughes Jackson. Delbert Pryor Snow, age 93, of Mayfield, Kentucky, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Brookdale of Murray. He was a member of First Baptist Church and American Legion Post No. 26. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, a retired cutter for the Merit Clothing Company and a retired Graves County school bus driver. Mr. Snow is survived by one daughter, Debbie Snow (Bobby) Boggess of Murray, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Trad (Michele) Carlisle of Georgetown, Kentucky, Brooke (Billy) Keeling of Dexter, Kentucky, and Blair (Jake) Daughaday of Murray, Kentucky; seven great-grandchildren, Kiera Carlisle, Cade Carlisle, Garrett Keeling, Gage Keeling, Gavin Daughaday, Jack Daughaday and Piper Daughaday; and two cousins, Rudy Higgins of Peoria, Illinois, and David Higgins of Mayfield, Kentucky. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucille Sheridan Snow; his second wife, Alma Bagsby Snow; two brothers, Vernon and Dalton Snow; and his parents, Elvis and Lillian Higgins Snow. Kenneth "Buddy" Baker, 77, of Fredonia died on Monday, September 28, 2015, at Baptist Health Paducah. Mr. Baker retired from SKW in Calvert City. Survivors include one daughter, Stacy Brantley of Princeton; one son, Barry Baker of Fredonia; four grandchildren, Jordon Barry Baker, Olivia Baker, Taylor Brantley and Heather Brantley Woodruff; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Joyce Baker Beck of Fredonia; two nieces; and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Sue Oliver Baker. His parents were Wilford "Dock" Baker and Isabell Guess Baker. Rollo N. Briggs, 78, of Cadiz died Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at his home. He was a retired U.S. Air Force veteran after 20 years of service and a Vietnam veteran. He was the previous owner and operator of Farmer Boy and Cadiz Restaurant. He was of the Baptist faith and a member and one of the founders of VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Briggs; one son, James Greg Briggs of Cadiz; one daughter, Linda Ann Machek of Cadiz; one stepdaughter, Yolonda Lynch of Cadiz; one brother, Harold Briggs of South Windsor, Connecticut; one sister, Joyce Osborn of Sebring, Florida; one grandson; three stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister. His parents were Aldbert Rollo Briggs and Nannie Weaver Briggs. Services will be at noon Friday, October 2, 2015, at King's Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. James Ragon "Rod" Kennedy, 74, of Cadiz died Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Trigg County Hospital. Mr. Kennedy worked for 37 years in the automobile service station industry in Cadiz, where he owned and operated Rod's Service Station for several years. He was a member of Hurricane Baptist Church, where he previously served as the choir leader. He was a member of the American Legion Post 74 and the Cadiz Masonic Lodge No. 121. He served in the U.S. Army as a field medic during the Vietnam War. He is survived by one son, Jamie Kennedy of Ozark, Illinois; one sister, Edna Terrell of Cadiz; one brother, Kenneth Kennedy; one grandson; and one step grandson. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister. His parents were Durwood and Clarice Henderson Kennedy. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. Burial with military honors will follow at Hurricane Baptist Church Cemetery in Trigg County. Ollie Temple Nordyke, 91, of Gilbertsville died at 4 a.m. Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Oakview Nursing and Rehabilitation. She was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was a retired nurse. She is survived by one daughter, Johann Backus of Madison, Indiana; three grandchildren, Johanna Johnson, Jeffrey Backus and John Backus; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Robert E. Nordyke and Clarence Nordyke. Her parents were Earl H. Jett and Stella F. Oak Jett. There are no services scheduled at this time. Charles K. Miller, 86, of Murray died Monday, September 28, 2015 at Maristone Assisted Living of Franklin in Franklin, Tennessee. Mr. Miller was employed with Tappan Manufacturing, the Murray Division, and later retired from Mattel in Murray. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Murray, a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Miller is survived by one daughter, Tina Bledsoe of Cedar Park, Texas; one son, Charles Steven Miller of Franklin, Tennessee; two sisters, Dulcie Thweatt of Burlington and Peggy Smith of Murray; two grandchildren; one stepgrandchild; and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Miller. His parents were Autry Miller and Frocie Howard Miller.
