What Are The Chances?

The Messianic Prophecies in the Old Testament that were literally fulfilled hundreds of years later in the life of Jesus are such phenomenal evidence that it sets the Bible apart from all other books ever printed. Look at just a few of the prophecies of the coming Messiah that were fulfilled in the first advent of Jesus:

  • He would be born in Bethlehem
  • He would be a miracle worker
  • He would ride in on a donkey
  • He would be betrayed by a friend
  • He would be sold for 30 pieces of silver
  • He would be killed and rise again
  • No bones would be broken
  • Crucified with thieves
  • Suffered thirst on the Cross
  • Hands and feet pierced

This is an incomplete list, yet the probability that all these prophecies given by many different prophets over hundreds of years would all be fulfilled in one person is one in on hundred billion, billion, billion, billion – too large a number to write on this page. To better illustrate; If the state of Texas was covered with silver dollars two feet deep and one of them was colored yellow, the chances that a blindfolded man could pick out the yellow one in one try – extremely unlikely!

That is the same probability that the Messianic prophecies fulfilled in Jesus could have been just a chance. If you read the Old Testament prophecies of the coming Messiah and the New Testament record of the life of Jesus, you will find it is not only a dramatic eye opener, but it can also be life changing!
