PADUCAH - On Thursday, September 12, Mauro Castano from the hit TLC show, 'Cake Boss' unveiled the world's largest quilt cake at the third annual Fall QuiltWeek in Paducah.

The cake features various quilting items such as a sewing machine, Vera Bradley bags, Siesta Silver jewelry and scissors on top of a larger sheet cake that is designed to resemble a quilt.

The cake was created at Carlo's Bakery in Hoboken, New Jersey, but was assembled in Paducah after an 11 hour ride in a refridgerated van. The cake came in at four feet by eight feet, and weighs around 2,000 pounds. A special table had to be constructed for the quilt cake that could hold the weight.

Carlo's Bakery also sponsored a contest where participants colored their own cake coloring pages for a chance to win a cake decorating lessing with Mauro. Fall QuiltWeek runs until September 14 in Paducah at the Schroeder Expo Center, located at 415 Park St.
