District 1 Roadshow: Traffic report
PADUCAH, Ky. (Aug. 28, 2026) - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet anticipates ongoing work zone construction and long-term maintenance activities at the following locations in District 1: Ballard County Calloway County Carlisle County Crittenden County Fulton County KY 94/E. Carroll Street is closed due to a slide near MP 12.7 in the city of Hickman. The roadway is closed to thru traffic. KY 1907/Swamp Root Road is closed at MP 1.727 at the Little Bayou de Chien Bridge. KY 1907 connects KY 94 and KY 781 northeast of the Cayce community. Graves County KY 1748 is closed at MP 0.12 at the Obion Creek Bridge, located between KY 339 and Oldham Lane, east of Wingo. Construction is underway to replace the bridge. Estimated project completion is around mid-September, weather permitting. KY 408 is closed at MP 1.8, just west of KY 339. Construction is underway to replace the bridge over Goose Creek. Estimated project completion is around the end of April 2027. U.S. 45 is closed at MP 1.8, about a mile north of Water Valley, for the construction of a new bridge over Jackson Creek. Estimated project completion is by the end of the year, weather permitting. Hickman County Lyon County Marshall County Lane restrictions in effect on I-69, part of a 15-mile asphalt rehab project from mile point 24.9 to 40.1, near Exit 25 (U.S. 45) at Mayfield to south of Exit 41 (U.S. 641 Spur) at Benton. Reduced speed limit of 55 mph in the work zone. Estimated project completion is Nov. 15, 2026. McCracken County Part of the new U.S. 60 alignment in Ballard and McCracken counties has opened to traffic. Expect various traffic shifts as construction continues; use caution. Old U.S. 60 is blocked just west of E. Clarkline Road in Kevil until project completion, which is expected in November. NOTE: KY 995/Rice Springs Road is temporarily blocked at old U.S. 60 until mid-September as crews construct the connection to the new U.S. 60 alignment. Work zone lane restrictions along U.S. 45x/Washington Street/Kentucky Avenue between 28th and 3rd streets (MP 0-2.11) for a resurfacing and roadway reconfiguration project. Paving is completed; thermo striping work is next. Overall estimated project completion is around mid-September, weather permitting. Lane restriction in effect on eastbound U.S. 60/U.S. 62 railroad overpass bridge near mile point 19.2, between Pugh Road and Fuller Lane. 12-foot width restriction. Repair work is underway. No additional traffic impacts expected during repairs. KY 787/Bryant Ford Road is closed at MP 1.56 due to the closure of a bridge. This is located south of U.S. 68, between Powers Road and Bypass Road. NOTE: This bridge replacement project is currently in the design phase; no estimate yet for letting or construction start date. Lane restrictions in effect on U.S. 60 from MP 5.9-6.6, near KY 305 and Rickman Road in McCracken County. Reduced speed limit of 35 and 45 mph in and approaching the work zone. Converting intersection to an RCUT. NOTE: The center of the intersection is currently blocked. No left turns, use designated U-turn crossovers to access KY 305. Estimated project completion is around the end of the year, weather permitting. U.S. 68 is closed at MP 1 at the I-24 Exit 16 interchange. No through traffic and on- and off-ramps closed in both directions. Converting intersection to a roundabout. Estimated project completion is around the end of October, weather permitting. +++ MP stands for Mile Point(s).
