Over the years, I've written several articles about stepping out in faith. This week, let's look at the word faith in the context of believing God in the moments where life seems impossible.
I will never forget a specific sermon I heard a few years ago preached from Matthew 17:20. "I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it would move. Nothing would be impossible." The pastor commented that he's not seen too many people with that much faith.
How about you? Have you ever been in a position where you were facing the impossible but had the faith to make something happen? I once had some friends who went through one of those situations. The mountain they faced was out of their control; in the end, they shared how they truly learned what it was like to pray without ceasing. Through it all, their hope was in the Lord!
I often look at situations and assume too quickly that something isn't possible and move on with life. But, oh, how wrong that is! God desires us to come to Him and ask Him for help. He wants to be actively involved in our lives; with Him all things are possible!
Matthew 19:26 says, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible." Just think, the creator of the universe is patiently waiting for me to stop what I'm doing and ask Him for help in every detail of my life. How awesome is that! We just have to have faith!
