44-year-old dead after crash in western Kentucky

FULTON COUNTY, Ky. (WSIL) -- One person is dead after a crash in western Kentucky on Wednesday.

The Kentucky State Police (KSP) Post 1 stated the Fulton County Sheriff's Office requested KSP to investigate a pedestrian vs vehicle crash in the 4000-block of E. State Line Road at 6:19 a.m. on January 22.

KSP said Jordan Owens, 44 of Greenfield, Tennessee, was driving a Mack garbage truck. The truck then broke down in the center of the road on E. State Line Road.

State police said Owens was outside of the truck when a 2014 Chevrolet Impala drove by and ended up hitting Owens.

The Impala was driven by Jose Gomez Carrillo, 25 of Mayfield, Kentucky. A passenger was also reported in the Impala. The passenger's name was Oseas Hernandez Gomez, 19 of Mayfield, Kentucky.

KSP said Owens was taken to an out-of-state hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The incident is still under investigation.
