On January 3, 2023, at approximately 6:20 AM, Graves County deputies responded to State Route 121 North just North of Dowdy Road for a box truck rollover. Through the investigation Deputies discovered the operator to be Douglas Bates, 62 years old from Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Mr. Bates was not injured in the collision but could not get out of the vehicle. Mayfield Fire Department responded to the scene and assisted Mr. Bates in exiting the vehicle. Due to the box truck being on its passenger's side and cargo being spilled, KY 121 North was closed for approximately four hours while crews worked to recover the vehicle and cargo.
Graves County Sheriff's Office was assisted by Mayfield Fire Department, Mayfield-Graves County EMS, Mayfield-Graves County Rescue Squad and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. |
