LOUISVILLE (KT) - The EQUIP Tour of the Kentucky Baptist Convention is coming to a town near you over the next three weeks.

It starts Tuesday night in Mayfield at Trace Creek Baptist Church and will travel to five other locations around the state in August and September.

Steve Rice, team leader of Church Consulting and Revitalization for the KBC, said Ephesians 4: 11-12 describes EQUIP well: "And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ."

Rice said EQUIP can offer valuable training to those who attend.

"Every believer is called to serve through their local church. As we serve, we want to give the Lord our very best. Because of that, the goal of EQUIP 2023 is to provide helpful, practical training that will equip church staff, leaders, and volunteers to serve their churches with confidence and excellence," he said. "At EQUIP we offer top-shelf training for practically every ministry area in the church."

EQUIP will cover training in these areas: Children's Ministry, Church Communications, Deacon Ministry, Evangelism, Finance, Men's Discipleship, Missions, Revitalization, Students, Sunday School, WMU, Women's Ministry and Worship and Music.

Registration begins at 5 p.m. with dinner at 5:30. Each event will have two sessions starting at 6:50 and 7:50. Groups will dismiss at 8:40. The schedule reflects local times.

Online registration is open through the day prior to each event and participants may register on site the day of the event. Cost is $15 a person with a maximum of $75 per church.

The EQUIP Tour will be in Bardstown at Parkway Baptist Church on Thursday and next week will be at Fitzpatrick Baptist Church in Prestonsburg on Aug. 29 and Corinth Baptist Church in London on Aug. 31.

The last two stops will be at Central Baptist Church in Winchester on Sept. 7 and First Baptist Church in Bowling Green on Sept. 12.
